SUMMER READING 2015
Summer is approaching and it’s almost time for our Summer Reading Program to begin. Due to preparations for our
fun-filled summer, most of our branches will not be hosting any afterschool programs, activities or Toddler Times
during the month of May. We will be sending out our Summer Reading Lagniappe soon featuring all our upcoming
events including performers and crafts. Be sure to mark your calendars and attend your local branch to be a part of
this year’s fun.
BOOK SIGNING AND STORY HOUR WITH DAPHNE THOMAS

Louisiana schools and libraries for several years, and is currently developing new characters designed to help
children recognize and embrace the joy of reading. She is a member of the Acadiana Center for The Arts and is a
teaching artist in their “Arts in Education” program. Daphne is an artist on the roster at the Ashe’ Cultural Arts
Center in New Orleans, Louisiana in their “Field Trips” series. She is also on the artist performance roster for the
