Direct Pressed Laminate or DPL. This process is registered in a European norm (13329) that sets all the criteria and tests that must be
satisfied for a floor to be classified as laminate and will last to give years of pleasure.

Unique results
Tarkett Aquastyle gives results that are unique among the competition.
Without MRTech
How does water threaten your laminate floor? Through its joints! It could penetrate them
and make the boards expand at the edges. Thanks to MRTech, Aquastyle 832 resists water
ingress and hence expansion. Stringent testing has demonstrated that Tarkett Aquastyle
solution results in 50% less expansion than its competitors’ average.

Innovative flooring resistance
In very stressed rooms like kids’ rooms or the kitchen, the floor needs to be more resistant
to maintain its original look and structure. It has to bear more impacts, potentially
located repeatedly in the same area, around the kitchen worktop for example.
Tarkett laminate now offer an increased impact-resistant
flooring solution.
How? A new formula for the HDF board (mixture of different types of timber) gives greater resistance
to the board and hence to the overall boarding.

Tarkett laminate gives acoustic comfort
Tarkett offers solutions to bring acoustic comfort to your homes. There are two types of irritating
noise: drum sounds and transmission sounds. Choose between our two options to absorb
and muffle these sounds: products with an integral 2.2 mm underlay (Soundlogic products)
or a 3 mm separated foam to lay underneath the laminate (Soundblock foam – more info
on page 41) – and keep noise out of your living areas!
Drum sounds (also called room sounds, emitted sounds, resonating sounds or reflected sounds) are generally defined as
the perceived level of airborne sound inside a room produced by walking persons, falling toys or other impact sources.
Reduction of loudness of drum sound is measured in comparison with a “standard laminate flooring”. The test results are
expressed as a % (reduction value), and professionals also classify those values into SL groups. The higher the SL results
or percentage, the better.
Transmission sound is produced by walking over a floor and is transmitted through the structure’s floor to the room
below. Impact sound transmission of laminate flooring is measured using a tapping hammer placed on the floor. The
results are expressed as dB, generally describing the difference between the noise level in the room below when with
and when without the laminate floor. The higher this value, the lower the noise level in the room below the floor.

The Oak collection
Oak is the essential wood par excellence. Tarkett offers a unique variety of oak
floors to create a comfortable, cosy atmosphere to reflect your lifestyle.
Finding the oak solution to match your needs and tastes has never been so
easy: you are playing safe as far as resistance is concerned, as it is very easy
to take care of. Furthermore, your floor will keep its looks and quality for
many long years. So you can just decide whether you prefer to go for the more
traditional beige and honey colours or for the latest grey trends. You can also
choose whether you prefer a perfectly smooth surface or if you want a bevelled,
wood-like touch.
Whichever Woodstock décor you select, you’ll be fascinated by its genuine
wood look: its embossed-in register surface just looks like the real thing!

follow the contour of the wall & hard enough to welcome the skirting & keep
them tight in place.

A synthetic heavy duty
under layer of 2,2 mm:
proven noise insulation performances
outstanding resistance to crashing:

How does it work? When sound passes through Soundlogic extruded
thermoplastic structure, it is forced to change directions many
times and travel great distances before it passes completely
through. The sub floor will act as a reflective surface underneath.
As a consequence, not only does Soundlogic dense structure
dampen ambient sound in the room it’s installed in, but it also
inhibits sound greatly from travelling into the room below.

All you need to know
to instal and live your floor!
Before installation: room preparation
Acclimatising
Allow your flooring to adjust to the temperature of the room in which it is to be installed.
The packaged flooring should be placed in the room for a minimum of 48 hours prior to installation.
Direction
While your floor is acclimating, take the opportunity to set the direction of installation!
Always take into account the light source and the main direction from which the floor will be viewed.
Tarkett recommend laying panels lengthways in accordance with the main viewing direction and main
source of light.
Floor preparation
A few simple checks must be carried out before you can
actually start installing your floor!
• The sub-floor must be dry.
• The sub-floor must be even. Irregularities >3 mm/m or
2 mm over 2m must be levelled out accordingly.
• The sub-floor must be firm, robust and clean.
More info on the installation instructions inside your
laminate boxes!
What you need to know about under-floor heating & laminate
• Laminate flooring is suitable for installation above under-floor heating systems, provided that the heating element
is embedded in concrete or another sub-floor.
Laminate flooring is not suitable for installation above under-floor heating foil installed above concrete or any other sub-floor,
unless otherwise specified by the under-floor heating manufacturer.
• Laminate flooring surface temperature should never exceed 28°C.
• Laminate flooring can be installed on low-temperature water-based under-floor heating systems with a maximum 28°C surface
temperature.
• Standard electrical underfloor heating foil systems can generally reach a surface temperature of more than 28°C when
turned up to maximum operating temperature, which is not compatible with laminate flooring. If you are using
an electrical under-floor heating system, make sure you have a self-regulating system in order never to exceed 28°C.
42
After installation
Maintenance
Cleaning
So easy!
Regular cleaning: vacuum and dry-mop.
Occasional cleaning: if needed, you can damp-mop your flooring
every 2 weeks. Use a cleaning solution suited to laminates,
rinse the mop thoroughly, and dry-mop your floor when finished.
Stains!
Remove stains, spots, etc. as they occur. Rub the stain with a clean, dry mop moistened with a dedicated cleaning agent.
Never spray any cleaning agent directly onto the floor. When using a solvent or concentrated cleaning solution, read the safety
advice carefully!
Rubber, plastic, heel marks
Rub the mark with a dry cloth. Use acetone if needed.
Once dry, brush it off with a white nylon pad.
Urine, blood
Wipe the stain with a slightly damp cloth.
If dry, rub it down with a dry nylon pad.
Nail-varnish, shoe polish, paint, ink, felt pen, lipstick
Remove with a cloth soaked in acetone, nail-tar varnish
solvent, paint-thinner or vinegar essence.
Fruit, milk, beer
Remove with an absorbent dry cloth. If dry, wipe down
with a dedicated cleaning solution, then wipe dry.
Candle wax, chewing gum
Once hardened, these should be removed with a blunt
plastic scraper.
Prevention always helps!
• Place door-mats and foot brushes at all exterior doorway entrances.
• Fix felt protectors under furniture legs.
Disposal? Recycling?
You can dispose of your laminate flooring in normal household waste, or disposal waste for large quantities.
Laminate flooring can be reused or recycled as an energy source.
43
Tips and tricks for installation
Installation basics
• Laminate flooring should always be laid as a floating floor (i.e. the boards should never be
fixed to the sub-floor in any way).
• Boards should be staggered by a minimum of 300 mm and should always have
a length > 30 cm.
• Allow for an expansion gap of 8-10 mm between the flooring and any fixtures
(walls, pipes, door-stops, etc).
• In corridors and rooms longer and/or wider than 10 metres, expansion provision
should be allowed for and covered with a matching transition profile.
• Before installing laminate flooring, it should be left for 48 hours in the room
in order to allow it to adjust to the temperature and humidity in which it will be used.
How to instal your laminate flooring?*
• Glue-free systems.
• No special tools: a pencil, ruler and saw are about all you need.
2-lock
Fold-down system! It’s so easy 2-Lock, it takes 50% less time to instal the flooring!
So easy only one person is needed, even for large rooms!
T-lock
Angle system: angle-angle-angle: it is locked and will stay firmly clicked in place
for many long years!
And walk over your flooring as soon as it is laid!
*Always refer to and follow the installation instructions provided with your laminate flooring.
