THE HUNGER GAMES
One of last year’s blockbusters
The hunger games, is a movie that everyone can
understand and it's for the people who like action and
blood. People that like romantic movies and for the
people who like films with subliminal messages.
The movie tells the story of a girl that lives in a world
separated in 12 districts. She is in the poorest one where
every year the dominant district goes to all of them and through a raffle chooses a guy and a
girl to fight with the other elected people. This is a representation that shows a government
that wants to provide a better future.
A lot of people have understood the meaning of the movie, that 's why in a lot of countries the
government tried to sensor the film.
I think this film should be seen by everyone who feel trapped in the system, and think about
a revolution to overthrow the current form of government, division of property and our way
of life or living under the control of rich families around the world.
CHEVICHE
The ceviche is a traditional food that is prepared in Peru.
The ceviche is a dish consisting of see food. The
ingredients of the ceviche are raw fish, lemon or acid
lemon, chili, tomatoes, lettuce, onion and jicama.
1 First the raw fish is washed and cut into small pieces
2 Then you put green lemon to flavor the fish
3 Then you decorate with lettuce, jicama and if you want
to add chili you can do it.
The ceviche was created in 1987 in Peru (Amazonas)
Then you prepare the potatoes and add green lemon.
You cut onion in circles and then you add it to the
ceviche.
The ceviche was discovered buy mistake with the fish
and green lemon.
The ceviche is known all around the world.
The fish that is used to prepare the fish is called “Panca”.
The ceviche is my second favorite food.
The best that is prepared in 5 minutes because you don t
have to cook the fish.

A WEEK IN PARIS
Discovering the Louvre
This summer, I went to France for a week
with my family. We did a lot of tourism.
We went to Versailles, a huge palace
where the past France kings used to live.
It's now a mansion-museum where you
can see what French rich medieval live
was like. We went to the south part of the
palace where there is a huge garden that
you can visit. It took a whole day to visit it
all.
The next day, we visited the Eiffel Tower.
We didn't go up by stairs, so we took two
elevators to the highest point of the
Tower. At the highest point, you could
see the whole city around you: all the
museums and buildings.
Then, we visited Les Invalids, the military
museum where Napoleon is buried.
There, we went to the World War part,
where you can watch everything about
those wars. In my opinion, this museum
was the second one I enjoyed most.
Finally, we visited the Louvre museum, a
huge building with three glass pyramids
at the entrance. It is the museum I
enjoyed most. Almost everybody knows
that museum because of the Giaconda, or
named Mona Lisa too. I was very nervous
justly when I saw it.
I think that it's disappointing by the fact
of the size. It was so small! On the other
hand, there were a lot of people taking
photos to the painting.
The Mona Lisa isn't the only famous
masterpiece in the Louvre; there were a
lot of more special pieces, such as the
Venus of Milo (a sculpture of the “god”
Venus). Furthermore, I found something
very curious: the Hammurabi Code. It's a
big piece of black rock that Mesopotamic
people used to write their first laws. The
first human laws! The three Louvre
pyramids were impressive.

I HAVE SIGNED U P
FOR FOOTBALL
First I played basket in
Esporlas but I didn't like
it very much. I told my
mother that I wanted to
play football and tshe
asked me where I
wanted to play football. I thought
about where I could go to play and
finally decided that I would play at
school or in Esporlas. I went to see
how much each cost. It was
cheaper to play in the Esporles
team and I had decided to go to that
team.
In my first training session we did
physical training. They didn't touch
the ball. The next day of training
they ran for 30minutes. They
sprinted and jogged. We ran so
October 2014
much that we could hardly play the match and
the final result was 1-1. One goal was a
header and the other one, scored by my team,
was into the right side of the goal. The striker
was impressive. The match was very
entertaining for the people that were watching.
Always in the training they started running and
I didn't like it. One day I had to give my photo
and the ID and the next day they gave me
clothes to train with and to play the next match.
When I got the clothes I could play the
matches and I scored!
I also have a friend from the school there
called Pedro Enrique who also plays on the
Esporlas team. He is a year younger that me.
He also lives in Esporlas.
He is a very good football player and he plays
on side because he runs very fast. When we
play with him we all run a lot.

FIVE MINUTES WITH JAVIER RABELL
A delicacy
To prepare the real “Rabell family American Sandwich" we basically need two slices of
bread and one egg, four slices of bacon and butter. Take the bread and spread the
butter, put it in the pan and then when the bread is more or less yellow and black, put it
on the plate and cook the bacon, When the bacon is cooked, put it on the bread. Then
you fry the egg. Finally put it on the loaf of bread and you have a great AMERICAN
SANDWICH for supper.
This is also good for Saturday breakfast because it has many proteins an vitamins. Eat
this and run 30 meters in five seconds. If you want to eat this, better have it for lunch or
breakfast because if you have it for diner you might have difficulty to fall asleep and you
might get fat. Eat it slowly and combine with a Coke to stay hydrated.

This summer I was in Son Serra de Marina with my
cousins and after a long day at the beach, my uncle
told us to prepare lunch and we grabbed a lot of
ingredients in the kitchen. We decided to prepare
macaroni. None of us had done macaroni before, and
we cut the ingredients that we thought where going
to be good together: macaroni, meat, tomatoes,
eggplants, carrots and salt.

MACARONI
The way you have to cook it is: You take a pan with water and you put it on the fire
and wait until it boils. Then you put your macaroni in and you wait for about an hour.
Meanwhile you take the eggplants,
carrots and the meat, and you cut it all
up in small pieces. Take another pan
and you cook the meat first then the
eggplant and finally the carrots. After
all this, you put the vegetables and
the meat in the pan with the macaroni
for another 5 minutes.
When you finish you will have a
delicious lunch that you can
accompany with a soda.

LEO MESSI
A HERO OR A VILLAIN
Leo Messi who is also called "la pulgita messi" is a
great football player but he is not always elegant
enough when he scores a goal. I think that he could
be a little friendlier with the people. Once he didn’t
bother to even say hello to a small kid and now there
many people who criticize him on the Internet. I
think that footballer should be friendlier in general.
Leo Messi also lies now and then when he plays
football. He falls onto the grass and says that he has
received a kick and expects a free kick.
On the other hand, referees are the most insulted
people in the world. Leo is not always kind to them
either.
Furthermore, Leo has failed to pay taxes even
though he is very rich. If he is a VIP he should act like
one. This is what I think.

THE IMPORTANCE OF
SINGLE SEX SCHOOLS
Nowadays people aren´t conscience that there are a lot of problems to find work. For example
here in Spain, a lot of young people who finished the university can´t find a job to buy a house or
to live.
Although this is true, we must still work hard to stand out and get the best possible opportunities.
At least, when we are in class, we should try to avoid any kind of distractions. While we are
teenagers, the opposite sex can be a great distraction. It is not only a question of distraction, many
studies show how boys and girls learn in different ways and they also mature differently. All that
has a huge influence on education and on the way teachers work with their students.
Another big problem are the famous applications to talk to others like Wasapp. It is not really a
problem if you use it correctly but if you use it a lot it can be prejudicial for you.
We have single sex schools in Mallorca. The boys school is Llaüt and the girls’ school is called Aixa,
both in“Parc Bit”. School begins at 9 oc´lock and finishes at 5:00. There arent girls at Llaüt and we
must wear a uniform but evenhough it’s a nice school. There are a lot of good instalations and you
do some fun activities like the Red Carpet Film Festival.

To learn more about the history of Menorca, you can go to see
“La Naveta des Tudons”, or walk to “Cami de Cavalls”, or if
your intention is to see monuments you can go to “La Mola”, or
“Binibeca Vell”, or visit the Cathedral of Ciudadella.
Menorca is smaller than Mallorca. Its biggest mountain is
called “Monte Toro” and is 358m high.
If you go to Menorca, you don’t find “Pacha”, or “Tito’s”, but
you can visit “La Cova d’en Xoroi”, Alaior. It is a place that is a
bar during the daytime, but at night it transforms into a disco.
In my opinion the best restaurant is “Es Cranc Pelut”, Fornells.
This restaurant makes the best “Lobster stew” that you can eat
in your life. In my opinion the best restaurant, could also be
“Minerva” in Mahón’s port. You can eat on a boat.

First step, you put a whole
package of macaroni in boiling
water. While the macaroni is being
cooked, you can go on doing the
next step. You put the tomato
sauce with the mincemeat and
chop up the onion. Cook
everything for about 20 minutes.
When you finish the sauce, you
will probably have finished
making macaroni already. Then
put it in a bowl. Finally you put in

This dish is very easy to prepare. Just be careful when cutting onions and onions, and do

50% OF STUDENTS DROP OUT
BEFORE HIGH SCHOOL
Some recent studies have proven that, day by day
there are more problematic students
There are different opinions about the reasons, but
the most supported by people and experts, is the
one who says that now families don't give so much
importance to studies than before. So students
don't make such a big effort than they used to.
This is the main reason why in many countries, as
Spain or others, there are big economic problems,
and the main reason is that nowadays people are
much more ignorant, in general.
Recent British studies proved that a way to put an
end to the problem would be teaching the teachers.
The importance of good grades is still very relevant.
This is a great way to end with the problem and it
started to take place in British schools 5 years ago.
Grades are improving.
Now schools all over the world are starting with this new way to educate students. And the
opinion of all experts is that, it is going to be great for future education. They based their
opinions in the grades of new schools that teach students in this fresh and innovating way.

This year the students in 3rd ESO will be
the hosts of the fifth edition of the Red
Carpet Film Festival.
The location for this fifth edition is still to
be determined, but we know that it will
take place at the end of May 2015.
This year, students in ESO will make one
longer movie instead of several short
ones. The movies will be more
entertaining, and all the students will
have parts in their respective movies.
There will be more special effects and
humour.
The prizes for this great celebration are
still to be defined, but some of them
have already been revealed. Like always,
the prize for the best movie will consist
in a exciting activity for the whole class.
In previous editions the prizes were
tickets for paintball, meals at restaurants
and of course, tickets to go to the
cinema.
All the movies are filmed in English, that is mainly
why the whole festival is called The Red Carpet.
We work in English so that students can practice
their speaking in the films. We also promote and
the use of English and if we talk in English more
frequently it will be easier for us to comunícate with
others in this language.

IMPROVING EDUCATION AT SCHOOL
In many schools in the world the
education is very poor, so the
average in schools is strikingly
low, and all that is due to poor
teaching at some schools.
The teaching departments have
created new forms to convert the
education in a special form for
children to become eager to learn
and enjoy the process.
Since many colleges such as the
Parc Bit have changed their
teaching
and
have
shifted
completely now most students get
better
grades
than
before.
Cooperative learning is one of the new strategies used at Llaüt and Aixa to improve
students’ grades and make learning more effective. New technologies in the classrooms
are also indispensable for improving teaching at modern updated schools.

MALLORCAN BUILT MOTORCYCLES
There were motorcycles that
were made in Mallorca, these
motorcycles
were
called
Colomet.
These motorcycles were made
by Jaime Colomet, he had a

motorcycles.
He worked there with his
brother Antonio Colomet in
Foners street in Palma.
Over time, the shop grew and Jaime Colomet started a company to start manufacturing
engines for boats.
Then you wanted manufacture a motorcycle. They designed the line of the machine in
1951, when the company introduced Jaime Colomet a motorcycle and called "M51", with
these features: 123 cc, 4.5 hp at 5,000 rpm, with three gears shift knob by foot.
In 1953 the model "M53" appeared with similar characteristics as the first but with a more
powerful engine: 5 hp at 4,200 rpm. Later he also built a 150 cc model but received scant
notice. Currently one of these bikes can cost 3,500 euros.
The company made about 500 motorcycles.

You can eat something like a hot dog or a

DELICIOUS CHICKEN CURRY
You can't resist the nuclear chicken curry flavour
Ing redients
Chicken breast, salt, black pepper, onions,
curry sauce
How to prepare the dish
To make this Chicken Curry recipe, first of
all let's chop the onion. Then proceed to
brown the onion and cut into a pan or
casserole with oil, preferably shouldn't fall
short of oil.
Once we have poached onion and golden brown, we add the two chicken breasts, cut
chicken must be of good size, but not too big. Add salt and pepper to taste and let the
chicken fry in the pan for several minutes over medium heat.
When we observe the chicken has taken good colour, it's time to add the curry sauce to
the pan, lower the intensity of the heat and allow to cook several minutes all together. If
we believe it is a little more appropriate add salt.
The moment you have poached onions, add pepper and half a teaspoon curry measure
and stir.
190 ml cream is added, and Maintain simmer a minute or three. Finally, pass the mixture
through the blender obtaining the curry sauce. In Addition to these ingredients, you can
include pepper, which will give an extra touch of flavour.

NEW ACTIVITES @ LLAÜT
Extra activities to keep us entertained
year
like
football or
tennis.
This year there are new
sports at Llaüt school,
like judo, basketball or
even handball.
There are also sports
that we already had last
It’s a very
good idea to
introduce
new sports
at
school
because
some people
don´t like the
sports that
were offered last year, or
there
weren’t
enough
options for them.
The school has also got a
very good schedule because
in some schools, classmates
have the activities at six
o´clock and they can´t do
homework and will have
problems.
In Llaüt the activities will be
during recess. But some
people don´t like it because
they haven´t got time to
play on the playground or
spend time with friends.
There are other activities
that people can practise
like German or guitar.
This year there is a big
variety of sports you can
choose.

FOOTBALL AT SCHOOL
Teachers also play football
Last year teachers formed a team to play at
the university. Some teachers and even
some parents decided to also take part in it.
Among these magnificent players, some
well-known teachers such as Nacho Barcia,
Llorenç Ramis, D. Sergio Rico and others,
decided to show off their abilities.
Unfortunately they ended up in the last
position, scoring only one goal in all the
season. This famous goal was scored by
Sergio Rico.
Since they have not lost hope, this year they
are planning to participate in the league
again. We don’t know when they are
playing, but one thing is certain: if they
return, they will be a very stronger team this
year. Go champions!

CUBAN RICE
Cuban rice is one of the most famous dishes in Cuba.
It is really easy to prepare. You only need rice, eggs
and tomato sauce. So far nothing new. The original
dish also include meat. The idea is to prepare the
meat with the tomato sauce separately and then add
it to the dish.
Let’s start with the sauce. It’s the most difficult part so
pay attention to the recommendations offered in this article. Heat up a pan with a
little olive oil. Add the meet and fry it. Add pepper, salt and a little Tabasco y you feel
like it. Just be careful not to spoil the sauce by adding too much. Some people don’t
like spicy food.
Finally present the ingredients separately
on the table and let everyone help
themselves.
Enjoy this special Cuban recipe when ever
you like. It doesn’t take a long time to
prepare so it’s convenient for any
weekday.

THE SILVER TEACUP
YOUR FIRST
HART ATACK
J UST A FEW YEARS AW AY!
Three
years
ago,
the
Docampo
family
was
introduced in our school. This
family
has
two
boys:
Jaime(15) and Pablo(13).
And now, they have answered
our questions about Cádiz:
What is it? Why is it called
Cádiz? What are the most
relevant monuments? This
article will answer these
questions and much more.
Cádiz, called “Silver Teacup”,
called that for the shape of
the peninsula, is a fishermen
city that has a lot of
celebrations, fun and very fast
talkers. Their typical dishes
are “Pescaito frito con papas
aliñadas”, which means fish
and chips. ”Carne mecha”, a
typical meet sandwich typical
from the city and “Tocinillo de
cielo”,a sweet flan. Another
curiosity of Cádiz is that they
were the only people who
didn’t let the French in. That is
the why the first Spanish
Constitution was written in
Cadiz(1812).And in the 100th
centenary(1912) they built
“Las Cortes de la Constituion”.
Cadiz also had artists who has
left their mark in statues like
Paco de Lucía, Camarón and
Manuel de Falla's theatre. And
the most usual sport is
Windsurf at Tarifa beach.

Serious
breathing
problems can be avoided
by
practicing
sports
regularly.
By not doing enough
sports in life, you could
get a hart attack. Doping
also
increases
your
chances.
Sport is healthy and
affects your physical shape
in a good way.
Sports
like
Football,
Basketball, swimming and
cycling are healthy sports,
but they are not the only
ones.
Skateboarding is a good
sport and dancing are also
healthy sports.
But some sports are
dangerous like ice hockey
and American
Football. Once, a football
player lost his finger but
football is
not always dangerous. In
2010 a bullfighter was
injured by a bull but he
managed to survive. Ice
hockey players get cuts all
over their bodies.
Never-the-less, you should
practise
sports anyway. It is more
dangerous not to practise
sports than to do so.
