Giovanni Grillo
Southern Europe Managing Director, Lowendalmasaï
Giovanni Grillo began his career in the engineering field for the Packaging sector and then
moved towards consulting field in Corporate Value Associates (CVA) in Paris (19971999), London and Boston (1999-2001). In 2002 he was cofounder of Masaï Italy in
Milan. After the merger with Lowendal in 2007, he has assumed the role of Southern
Europe Director for the Business Line “Purchasing and Cost Performance” with
responsibilities on the offices in Madrid, Barcelona and Milan. Since 2010 he has been
Managing Director of Lowendalmasaï Italy and since January 2013 he has extended his
role on the offices in Spain and Portugal becoming Southern Europe Managing Director.
In 2013 with an MBO, Giovanni with other 4 Senior Directors took the majority stake of
the Lowendalmasai Group. Giovanni earned the Industrial Engineering Degree from the
École Centrale in Paris and the Economical Engineering Degree from the Politecnico of
Milan, Giovanni has also completed the Executive PDG Program at IESE in 2007, where
he was part-time professor in “Corporate Strategy”.

Paolo Kauffmann
Founder FARO
After graduating in Business Administration and obtaining a Master Degree in technical
analysis, he started his professional career embracing technical and intermaket analysis.
Later in the years, the study of the emotional impact involved in raw materials trading
and purchasing led him to become a coach for several industrial companies, supporting
them in establishing suitable risk management policies. In 1989 he is co-founder with his
father Giovanni of Kauffmann&Sons, the company specialized in managing commodities
price risks. In 2003 he is the founder of FARO, The International Commodities Club, and
then in 2005 of Kommodities Partners Sa based in Mendrisio (CH) in order to create a
skilled team in brokerage operations. Thanks to the passion for his area of expertise, he
has been teaching in a number of courses on commodity exchanges, hedging tools and
trading techniques, organized in collaboration with educational institutions and
associations. Author of numerous articles for several market analysis and technical
journals (eg, Il Mondo, A&L Aluminium and its Alloys, Macchine Utensili, Il Giornale di
Brescia). Speaker at conferences and talks as Commodity analyst and regular speaker at
Weekly Webinar and at FARO, where thanks to the knowledge gained in the markets he
can transfer to the participants his experience.
Wojciech Laskowski
Associate Editor Platts SBB (London)
Wojtek Laskowski is an associate editor at Platts office in London. During 3.5 years with
Platts he has been covering various steel markets in Europe and the CIS. Wojtek started
his career at Platts as a news reporter for steel industry in Central and Eastern Europe.
Later he moved on to cover some of Platts' key commodity steel markets including
European domestic and import hot and cold rolled coils as well as heavy plates. Wojtek
also maintains Platts Black Sea hot and cold rolled coils and pig iron export price indexes.
He also writes pricing and industrial news in Europe and the CIS. As a European markets
editor, Wojtek is in daily contact with suppliers, buyers and intermediaries in the above
markets. Wojtek has an MA in economics. He speaks Polish, English and Russian.
Arrigo Sadun
President of TLSG, International Advisors
From 2005 to 2012 he held the position as Executive Director of the Monetary
International Fund for Italy, Albania, Greece, Malta, Portugal, San Marino and TimorLeste. Previously, Dr. Sadun had held the following positions: Director of the economic
and financial analysis by the Ministry Treasury, Rome; President and founder of the
Business Information Group - BIG (consulting firm on Macroeconomic with customers in
Europe and in the USA), Milan; President of WEFA Group, Philadelphia USA (economic
consulting firm born from the merger of Wharton Econometrics & Chase
Econometrics); President of Chase Econometrics, Philadelphia - USA from 1977 to 1985
and Vice President of Chase Econometrics-Europe, Brussels, Belgium. Dr. Sadun holds a
PhD in International Economics, The Johns Hopkins University, Washington D.C.- USA; A
M.A. in International Relations, The Johns Hopkins University, Washington D.C. and a
degree in Political Science, La Sapienza University, Rome.
He was born in Bologna, he is married with two sons.
Riccardo Tomasoni

After the degree in Electronic Engineering in 1993 at the Polytechnic of Milan, Riccardo
has considerable experience as a Project Manager in Itema Group, a company of the
Radici Group, coming to the role of manager of electronics and 'automation.
In 1999 he followed the Executive Course in Innovation and Business Management (Eigi)
at MIP Politecnico Milano and then he has followed the opening of the energy market with
consulting activities. As a result of this experience, in 2002 he left Itema Group and
began the collaboration with Energetic Source (Brescia), one of the most important
operator in sales and trading of electricity and natural gas in Italy.
First the initial activities was related to pricing and the development of tools for the
analysis of the market then he became coordinator of activities related to natural gas.
Leaving Energetic Source, for some years under the control of Avelar (Renova Group),
from late 2009 to 2012 he worked in Milan in Emmecidue, a company operating in the
field of renewable, coordinating the business of energy trading.
At the end of 2012 decided to capitalize on the experience gained in the energy sector by
managing the start up of a new company, EDLO Energy, which deals with the trading and
monitoring of logistics for companies in the group, as it relates to carriers energy.
