The Hollywood Music in Media Awards recognizes and
honors the music in visual mediums, the talented
individuals responsible for it, and the music of both
mainstream and independent artists from around the
globe for their compositions and recordings in all forms of
media including film, TV, video games, commercial
advertisements, movie trailers and music videos. The
HMMA is also the first music awards event to recognize
and honor excellence in music supervision. In addition,
iconic individuals are presented with special awards for
outstanding career achievement and longevity in
entertainment. The HMMA is the only red carpet style
awards show in the world that includes a comprehensive
interactive industry conference (MIMI Conference)
designed to inform, educate, present opportunities and
further the careers of all conference participants.
HMMA Exclusive i-Tunes Distribution
HMMA has signed an
exclusive distribution deal
with Apple® iTunes content
provider Brenda Brown Entertainment, LLC. BBE has
reach far and above many larger content aggregators
that iTunes works with because of a legacy relationship
that was forged with Apple at the formation of the iTunes
platform. HMMA will be distributing music, videos and
iBook content. www.BrendaBrownEntertainment.com
Career Achievement Award
One of the foremost talents in film music today, Golden Globenominated composer Christopher Young has scored an
impressive number of features in virtually every genre. The spinetingling “Hellraiser” showcases the composer’s seminal
upbringing in horror; the new-techno sound of “Swordfish”
displays his versatility; the resonant, genuine Celtic sounds of “The
Shipping News” display his attention to detail; to the heartpounding rhythms of “Spider-Man 3” are all evidence of his
willingness to experiment. These scores are among the nearly 100
films that embody the work of this prolific composer. Christopher
Young was recently awarded BMI’s prestigious Richard Kirk Career Achievement Award;
past recipients include Danny Elfman, John Williams and Jerry Goldsmith. Christopher
Young says he has been blessed with his career so he gives back to the film music
community. He has taught in film scoring for over ten years, a two-term past president
of The Film Music Society and the president of the Madrid Film Music Festival in Spain.
He also purchased a residence to house students and struggling young composers.
Christopher Young composer, conductor, musician and valued collaborator will receive
the Hollywood Music In Media Awards' Outstanding Career Achievement for Film
Composing. This unique award is custom crafted by CJ Latimore www.cjlatimore.com
