“My Fantasy Vacation- Using Google Docs”
Hands-On Activity #1
You are going to create a Google Doc that features your very own Fantasy Vacation. This will allow you to try some
of the more advanced features of Google Docs and understand how to share a Doc with colleagues in the training.
To begin this assignment, follow these simple steps:
1. LOG INTO your Google account, click MORE…, select Google Docs
2. CREATE a new document
3. SAVE that document using the following naming convention (Last name, My Vacation)
4. TYPE your information in the document. Include different fonts, colors, and alignment.
What's Your Fantasy Vacation?
Do you want to dance the tango in Argentina? Learn to surf in Hawaii? Feed lion cubs in Africa?
Perhaps you dream of the day you can climb Mount Kilimanjaro or head to a spa in Indonesia.
Whatever the case, we want to hear all about your fantasy trip.
Take this time to create a Google Doc describing your fantasy vacation. Include information
about where you want to go, the type of accommodations, the time of year you want to go and
approximate length of the trip. Please include a table with the following:

5. SHARE your document with one person & [email protected]
select > invite people, and type in the e-mail address of the person you are sharing with.
6. LOCATE the document that is shared with you. You may need to refresh your screen.
7. INSERT COMMENTS and/or CHANGE any of the information on the document that is shared with you.
8. REVIEW THE REVISION HISTORY (under FILE) and check to see who has access to the document.
9. DOWNLOAD this document as a PDF.

Creating a new document, editing, saving, sharing, commenting, tables, revision history, access settings, and
downloading to a PDF.
