Google Business Photos ($) To make Google Maps even more
Google Business Photos ($) To make Google Maps even more helpful to users, Google has now begun a program for businesses to have high‐quality photos taken and uploaded to Google websites. Any business who has set up with Google Places can sign up and pay to have these 360° images taken. Step 1: Make sure your business is set up with Google Places (the Wellington West BIA has created a Factsheet to help you get set up.) Step 2: Visit the Google Business Photos website for the list of Trusted Photographers & Agencies in Ottawa: http://maps.google.com/help/maps/businessphotos/get‐
started.html (Currently there are 8 Photographers and Agencies to choose from. Prices may vary.) Step 3: Contact a Photographer or Agency and set up a time for the photoshoot. Make sure your business is clean and tidy, but represents what a typical customer would experience in the business on any given day. Step 4: The Photographer or Agency will upload the images and work with Google to seamlessly integrate the imagery into Google Places and Google Maps. The photographs will also be available for you to include on your website with some easy html coding. Take a look at Absinthe Café who had the 360° images taken of their restaurant: If a person is moving along Wellington West on Google Maps Street View, they will see a double arrow pointing to a business that has purchased Google Business Photos. Clicking on the double arrow will take them right inside the business!
