YMCA Summer Staff
You are in for a summer you will never forget!
T
immins Family YMCA Camps are planned and supervised by our qualified
Summer Camp Supervisor and/or Management. Camp counselors are
carefully selected for their maturity, experience, patience and skills with
children. All of our counselors receive an extensive training program where
they receive hands on training in YMCA leadership, YMCA C.A.T.C.H., safety and
emergency procedures as well as Healthy Child Development. All staff are qualified
in Standard First Aid and CPR and undergo a criminal reference check prior to the
start of camp.
COME JOIN THE TIMMINS FAMILY YMCA TEAM!
If you love children, are patient, creative and would like to show your skills in an
organization that recognizes the value of top employees; then please submit your
resume at our office on Poplar Avenue. We are currently seeking high school, college
and university students for summer camp counselors.

Program
The program is based out of the Archie Dillon Sportsplex
as part of our municipal collaboration program. It
includes an orientation to our youth fitness centre and
age appropriate exercises and activities.
This summer, the YMCA is expanding its HEAT
program (Helping Eager Athletes Train) with a more
advance Summer Athlete Development Program,
aimed at 12-15 year olds.
Participants will meet twice a week to Start Moving,
Get Moving and Keep Moving!
This program presents tremendous opportunities for
both off-season training and in-season conditioning
for all sports. It is designed for the serious youth
athlete interested in developing their physical
potential and athletic performance through various
training programs and activities.

Training with this program will more closely resemble
sporting demands by incorporating lifts, speed,
agility, quickness and balance drills, along with sport
energy system and strength development.
Athletes will be segmented by age, as well as
