Peter and his wife, Shirley Ann, reside in Newburgh. They have one

Jim Nichols – Class of 1967

1st Team All-County Football
VC Football Captain
Graduate of Weber State University
First Team All Big Sky Conference Full Back in 1972
Won 10 Gold Medals in Track & Field at the
Empire State Games
2nd in Nation in 2000 Masters Shot Put
38 years in Educational Programs for NYS Corrections
Jim & Eileen (VC grad ’69) will be married 40 years
in December. They reside in Holland Patent, NY

Guy Bartle – Class of 1967
Earned 10 Varsity Letters in Basketball, Football and Track at
VC
Walden Rotary Club Athlete of the Year in 1967
Science Teacher and Coach at VC 1971-74
Served 28 Years in the US Air Force and
Air Force Reserve as a Lieutenant Colonel
Member of 50th Anniversary of Korean War Committee
Guy and his wife Mary lived in Alaska for 15 years and
currently reside in Hawaii. They have a daughter, Emily and a
son Glenn

Glenn Appell – Class of 1967
Track & Field, Soccer
Three Time OCIAA & Section IX Champion in Mile Run and Long Jump
Three Time Kansas Collegiate Cross Country and Mile Champion
Ran 4:09 mile at NAIA National Championships earning All-American
Finished 2nd in the 1972 New York City Marathon
Inducted to Kansas Wesleyan University Hall of Fame.
Glenn is married to Nelda Jean Murphy and reside in Witchita, Kansas.
They have two sons, Jason and Scott and 2 grand daughters, Kennedy
and Lakin

Richard McClearn – Class of 1977

3 Year Varsity Starter at VC
1977 OCIAA Basketball Player of the Year
Scored over 1000 Career Points at Valley Central
Played in the SEMCO National Invitational Basketball Classic
at Kutcher’s Resort
College Basketball in Buffalo, NY
Currently Serves on the Greater Baltimore Urban League Board of Directors
Rich resides in Onings Mills, Maryland.
Greg Miller – Class of 1978
Football, Basketball and Baseball
His defensive play helped lead VC to the
1978 OCIAA Basketball Championship
Three Year Starting Shortstop for Varsity Baseball Team
Athletic Scholarship to the University of Buffalo for Baseball
Gregg and his wife, Karen are married 25 years and reside
in Montgomery. Their son Matthew graduated from VC in 2006
and daughter Ashley, a 2008 VC grad, won the
2007 NYS Singles Tennis Championship in her senior year.

1983 All East Linemen of the Year at Temple

Won a World Championship Ring in 1984 for the USFL’s
Philadelphia Stars
Played in the NFL with the Washington Redskins
14 years of coaching Semi-pro and Arena Football
Michael resides in Newburgh, NY

4 year Starter at Oneonta State University
4 Time All SUNYAC and All-NYS Collegiate Team
Pitched only Perfect Game in Oneonta history
Inducted into Oneonta Hall of Fame in 2004
Michele is married to Chris Sharpe a VC grad Class of
’91 and former VC football player. They have a 2 year
old daughter, Emily and reside in Montgomery

Scarlet who is 4. They reside in Auburn Alabama.

Jason Motte – Class of 2000
Catcher for 2000 VC State Finalist Baseball Team and for 4 years
at Iona College
Batted .450 with 12 Homeruns and 49 RBIs as a Senior at VC

Drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals as a catcher in 2003
Switched positions from catcher to pitcher in 2006
Currently in second season as a relief pitcher with the St Louis Cardinals
Has a 2.40 ERA with 49 strikeouts and 17 walks in 49 innings this season
