Aswewrite,thenewsemesterhasstartedwithimportantpoliticaldecisions;SUS(StavangerUniversityhospital)will
bebuildinganewhospitaltobelocatedatUllandhaug.Thiswillcreatemanynewemploymentopportunitiesduring

Currentlyourregionhasmanynewcomers,howeverforsome,their“ticket”toNorwaywasperhapssomethingother
thanajobcontract.Ifwecoulduseallourskillsandmotivationtointegratethenewcomersbyintroducingnew
physicalactivities,wearedoingsomethingimportantinadifficultperiodoftime.Peoplewithhighenergycreatemore
ideasforotherhappeningsaswell.Yourepresentmanyspokenlanguages,andwecouldreallyhelpeachotherby

theItaliancommunityinRogaland.Since2006IKISisopentoindividuals,organizationsandinstitutionsthat
areinterestedintheItalianlanguageandculture.Theassociationoffersmanynetworkingopportunitiesfor
everybodywholovesItalianfood,wine,music,etc.
Forthelast10years,IKIShasspreadtheItaliancultureamongtheNorwegianandinternationalcommunity
inStavanger,inordertoallowamutualshareofculturalexperiences.Mosteventsareopenalsotononmembers,butmembership(only150NOKperyear)givesyoudiscountedprices.
IKISpromotesastrongcollaborationwiththeCOMITESNorvegia,theofficialItalianorganizationoftheItalian

WithValentine'sdayjustaroundthecorner,whetheryouengageinsuchcelebrationsornot,itisdifficult
toescapecomingfacetofacewiththenotionofromanceandrelationshipsthismonth.Apparentlythough
weshouldbeturningtoscienceandnottocupidtodiscoverthesecretsoflonglasting,andmost
importantly,happyrelationships.
Despitethecurrentstatisticofapproximatelyhalfofallmarriagesendindivorce,thereareplentyof
reasonstoremainhopeful.Arecentstudyofmarriedcouplesshowedthatasurprisingnumberofcouples
remainverymuchinlovewiththeirpartnerseven20yearsaftertheyfirstgotmarried.Brainscansofthese
