Your Community Resource for Information and Enrichment Lake Oswego Library Summer Reading Programs: June 1 - August 31 Summer Reading is for everyone, from birth to adulthood. Whether you are a pre-reader, an emerging reader, or a voracious reader we have a club for you. So, keep your brain healthy and smart by reading all summer long. We have some great incentives just for participating from Oaks Park, Bullwinkles, The Oregon State Fair, Benihana, UU Yogurt, Bike Gallery, and The Portland Trail Blazers, Timbers and Thorns sports teams. Come and visit us in the Children’s Library after June 1 to sign up. Summer Readto-Me-Club! It's as easy as 1-2-3! Get in The Game. READ. For teens entering grades 7-12 It’s all online, go to www.lopl.org/TeenSummerReading to sign up! • Summer Reading Kickoff Party, June 11, 2-4. Karaoke, snacks and a henna artist. • Sign up and get a free book • Read for two hours to be entered in a drawing for a $20.00 gift card for Bridgeport Village. (22 chances to win) • Write reviews and earn incentives the more you read. For pre-readers Read to your child for 10 minutes a day for 25 days this summer and help them to earn prizes, coupons and a brand new book! • Receive an early literacy tip sheet. Learn why reading to baby right from the start is so important. • Have fun reading throughout the summer. Enjoy cuddles and lots of books, and develop the foundation for literacy. • Receive a free board book or picture book at the end of the program. On Your Mark, Get Set…Read! For readers entering grades K-6 Read books! Win prizes! Escape reality! For adults Why should kids have all the fun? Just as young library users do, parents, grandparents – and ALL adults can earn chances to win prizes for summertime reading! • Get incentives for signing up and completing your reading log. • Earn a free book! • Have fun reading throughout the summer. • For each book you read or listen to, you fill out an online form. • Our computer will choose random weekly winners – the prizes will be edible or bookish treats! • The Grand Prize, once again, will be a gift certificate for a stay at the Sylvia Beach Hotel on the Oregon coast! • It all starts June 1, when library card holders 18 years and older can register online at www.lopl.org/lazinfest.
