The Great Pickup Truck War may be escalating to another level as General Motors is moving to match Ford's
F-150 by using aluminum body panels to save weight and increase fuel mileage by 2018.

Despite popular sentiment that consumers 25 years old and younger are really not interested in buying a
vehicle, this group of consumers has represented a steadily increasing proportion of total retail automotive
sales since 2009, and those young drivers who purchase a new vehicle are enthusiastic about ownership,
according to the recently released J.D. Power 2014 U.S. Automotive Media and Marketing Report -- Winter

Mercedes-Benz, the top-selling luxury-auto brand in the U.S. in 2013, started out this year in the lead with
record January sales as carmakers broaden their lineups to bring in younger buyers.

Experts from Kelley Blue Book www.kbb.com report the estimated average transaction price for light
vehicles in the U.S. was $32,391 in January. New-car prices decreased $464 (down 1.4%) from
December 2013, while increasing $479 (1.5%) year-over-year.

As expected, certified used-vehicle sales set a record in 2013, increasing 15% from the previous year.
