Scholarship Recipients
Each year students from Rocky Boy apply
for numerous scholarships. The school also
has several scholarships that the staff and
REBA are tasked to award. This year’s recipients are listed below.

AMANDA BLUE BELCOURT is the Class of
2011 Valedictorian with a
cumulative grade point
average of 4.01. In Havre,
Montana during the

Amanda Belcourt was born
to Marvin and Blue Belcourt. Before attending
Rocky Boy, Amanda attended Box Elder. Her
favorite food and drink are
lasagna and Raspberry
Brisk Tea. Amanda’s favorite thing about being a
senior was that it was her
last year and torturing the
younger kids with her fellow classmates. Amanda
has received numerous
awards throughout high
school. After graduation
Amanda plans to work, go
to college, and become a
nurse. Her hobbies and
interests include reading
and playing volleyball.

VAZQUEZ with a 3.99
GPA. On July 31st, 1993
Danielle Marie Vazquez,
otherwise known as Dani
was born to Vivian Wolfchild in Blackfoot, Idaho.
When asked if she has
attended any other schools
besides Rocky Boy, she
asked, “Do I really have to
answer this?” Her favorite
food is non spicy Mexican
food, preferably her
mom’s. Mr. Capps most
inspired Dani throughout
high school. Dani says she
will miss her classmates,
and the fun times she had
with them, well, most of
them anyway....She says
most of her favorite memories during high school
have happened outside of
school, but that still counts
right?. Her hobbies and
interests are just, “to have a
good time and to be with
fun people..” Being senior
class president has been
one of Dani’s greatest
accomplishments she has
achieved during high
school. When asked what
her favorite year of high
school she said, “junior
year, definitely.” Dani’s
famous last words are, “It
ain’t no fun if tha homies
can’t have none. ‘It isn’t
original, but it’ll do.” It is
confirmed that she’ll be
attending SKC with an
undeclared major.

Tyran Watson and Paul Mitchell
are honored
On May 3, students were sent home early so the staff could
take part in Teacher Appreciation Day. Mr. Voyd St. Pierre
invited all staff to attend an assembly wherein he recognized
each and every staff member and the number of years each has
put in here at Rocky Boy. Snacks and refreshments were also
served.
Emory Small takes the prize as having been here the most
years. He, along with every other staffer who’s been here 20
years or more, received an eagle feather. It’s only a replica
made from buffalo hide and painted, but it’s a beautiful replica.
Those on staff hitting a 5, 10, or 15 year mark each received a pin.
Finally, the assembly concluded with top honors for teacher of the year and staff member of year. Ty
Watson had multiple nominations for his inspiration and ability to put any situation in perspective and
was named the 2011 Teacher of the Year. As he humbly accepted this award, Ty said, “I accept this for all
of you.”
Paul Mitchell, with his daily smile for all of us and his dedication to the students, was honored as 2011
Staff Member of the Year. Congratulations to both men; they truly deserve these honors.

Standing Rock voted
onto the board
The times are changing and so
are the people. Earlier this
month the Rocky Boy Schools
held their annual school board
elections, and because there are
only two spots available some
didn’t make the cut. The candidates who did make it are Russell Standing Rock and Martin
Parker.
Congratulations to

“Dixie” Stump, Joseph Lafromboise, Raymond “Jazz” Parker,

needs people to step up and
show they care about our
schools and the education of the
children.
A special board meeting was
held on May 12 to install the
newest member of the board
and to select a new chairperson.
Josh Seaton now holds that position.
Dr. Arlene Bigby to join Rocky Boy
Staff
Earlier this year Mr. Johnny Allery submitted
his paperwork to retire from teaching leaving the
principal position at the junior high and high
school open.
In March the board had narrowed their candidate list to four. All four were invited to come out
for interviews. Along with the mandatory committee interview, the candidates also met with junior
high and high school staff for an informal interview.
The board had some strong candidates, although one called in his cancellation after he and
his wife drove almost to the school. He claimed
his wife was not interested in living in such a rural location.
After the interview process was complete, the
board offered Dr. Arlene Bigby the position. Dr.
Bigby holds a doctorate in Leadership in Education and comes to us from Wolf Point where she
was both the Assistant Principal and the Instruction Specialist at North Side Elementary.
Dr. Bigby is married, and her husband is an
elementary teacher. Both are looking forward to
moving to Rocky Boy as it gets them closer to
their roots in Harlem.

It’s the year 2021 and let’s
check up with Coby to see
what he’s been doing. After
high school Coby hung out
in Belknap. He went to
Fort Belknap Tribal College to play ball for the
Eagles. His senior year, the
college took first place in
AIHEC. Coby was voted
MVP, which helped him
earn a scholarship to finish
his education at Haskell
Indian Nations University.
He graduated with a BA
majoring in Liberal Arts,
and a minor in Media Arts.
In college, Coby really
found his calling. Who
would have known that he
wanted to be a music producer? After college, Coby
moved to Seattle, WA,
where the music scene is
happening. He started out
making his own beats and
songs; they were amazing
enough to be published in
one of Drake’s latest albums as a feature. This
really gave him inspiration
to start his own studio,
which he calls ABBZ Productions. Coby found the
next big thing, (better than
Justin Bieber), his own
daughter Sahara. Of course
he’s her manager. She recently performed at the
Staples Center in Los Angeles. But with all his accomplishments Coby still has
time to raise his daughter
and two sons. Coby loves
what he’s doing and in so
established a summer camp
for all the reservation kids
in Montana who want to
pursue a career in music.

Ferguson is?
Well, let me
tell you.
A few years
back he converted over to
Lutheranism,
and is the youngest person ever to
become a bishop.
During his time in
the clergy he came
back to Rocky Boy
and helped all of his
fellow classmates. He
showed them God’s way to
the light of happiness, and
even ran the A.A. meetings
for the tribe.
He married Tyler Azure.
Last year when they left
Rocky Boy they had six
kids named Jahzeil Mary,
Rebecka Shiloh, Sophia
Marie, Adrian James, Philip
Alexander, and Anthony
Ahio; all of their names
came from the Bible.
Sage and Tyler moved to
Russia where they have
since added on to their
family with a set of twin
girls-Anna Lee and Delilah
Rae. In Russia they have
already built a homeless
shelter and are happy extending their charity and
the Word of God around
the world. We believe they will live
happily ever after.

DAUGHTER OF FLORENCINE STUMP & ARNOLD FOUR SOULS
In 2021 I see Sierra Four
Souls as a research scientist.
She has already found the
cure for cancer, diabetes and
HIV. It turns out that Sierra is
a healer, so she just has to hug
the person with the disease to
cure them. She is taken by
Jimmy Small Boy. They have
been together for five years
now. They have one son
named Mordakai, and they
have one girl on the way. They
both live in Smallsville with
Jimmy’s parents. Sierra just
got her bachelor’s degree from
the world’s number one college, Stone Child. She also
has a part time job as a personal exotic dancer for Jimmy.
While in college, Sierra
needed a way to finance college so she became a MMA
fighter. She was good enough
that she hired Ty Watson to
be her personal trainer. She
worked every day with Ty and
Jimmy. Before you knew it,
she was already fighting in the
Strikeforce Division. In her
first fight she defeated Kris
Cyborg for the Strikeforce
Women’s Championship.
Sierra was champ for three
years before she retired. She
went down as the best poundfor-pound women’s champion
in history. She is now retired
from fighting and works only
as a researcher and works on
finding cures for new diseases
as they are discovered. She
and Jimmy are still together
and most likely will be for the
next forty years. Sierra says she
wants to work in medicine
research for probably another
twelve to fifteen years then
give back to the MMA world
by becoming a trainer for the
next generation of fighters.

free at the new
animal shelter
she and the
tribe worked
together to
build. Tisha
volunteers
there all the
time. She also collaborated
with the school to create a
work-study program, the
school sends kids to do
volunteer work at the shelter and Tisha holds summer
schools over at her Vet
clinic to teach students
about animal science. Tisha
has really helped the reservation develop into a more
pleasant community. The
animal shelter is bringing in
jobs and even helps the
reservation with animal
population which has even
reduced the amount of
trash found outside of
dump areas. Through her
efforts the animal cruelty
laws are being more strictly
enforced. Tisha got married
in Miami, Florida to a dentist. They met at the University of North Dakota; they
were both part of the INMED program. He is a
Seminole Indian. Her husband now works here; he
cleans the animals’ teethyep, he’s a veterinary dentist. He loves Tisha’s sense
of humor and she loves his
body. They have two beautiful children who are attend-

years. Shanelle always
wanted to be in the Marines and that’s exactly
what she’s doing now. After high school, she attended school at MSUNorthern and received a
degree in Civil Engineering
Technology. She enlisted in
the Army Marine Corps,
after her college graduation. Since she had already
earned a degree, when she
joined she immediately
became a First Class Officer. Shanelle’s many adven-
tures in the marines have
brought her to places
around the world, like Japan and Africa. In Japan
she helped rebuild many of
the bridges that had been
destroyed from the earthquake disaster in 2011. She
enjoyed Africa the most
though; she helped build
wells for the many villages
that were in need of clean
drinking water. While doing all of this she still managed to raise her son.
When asked what her
greatest joy in life is, she
always states, my baby boy.
She works hard to provide
for the both of them. Right
now she is stationed in
Atlanta, Georgia. Shanelle
really likes the warm
weather but misses the
snowy Montana Christmases. Sometimes she
