Congressional Breakfast Overview
Over 100 area business leaders gathered at Ranch Hope’s Strang School Cafeteria on August
11 to network and hear an in depth report from Congressman Frank LoBiondo.
The Chamber’s Government Relations and Economic Development Committee did another
terrific job planning and implementing this year’s Congressional Breakfast. Members in attendance were able to meet the Congressman and hear him address issues important to businesses
here in Salem County.
Our event Sponsor, Atlantic City Electric presented an overview just prior to the Congressman’s remarks. Robert Revelle, Regional Vice President for Atlantic City Electric and
Chamber Board Member gave the informative overview.
The GRED Committee led by longtime Chair Dr. Peter Contini, President of Salem Community College asked the Congressman to specifically cover the following as part of his talk:

THE BANK GETTING NEW NAME, ANGELA SNYDER NAMED NEW CEO
Fulton Financial Corporation has announced that its two New Jersey bank groups will merge.
The Bank, based in Mt. Laurel, and Skylands Community Bank, based in Chester, will merge into a single bank. This
action is subject to approval by bank regulatory authorities and is expected to be completed during the fourth quarter
of this year.
Following the merger, the combined bank will be known as “Fulton Bank of New Jersey.”
The board of directors of both The Bank and Skylands Community Bank recently reached an agreement in principle to merge.
“In keeping with our community banking philosophy, where decisions are made locally, the boards of directors and management teams of our two
New Jersey banks have determined that they will be better able to serve existing customers and attract new customers if they merge into a single,
state-wide bank,” said R. Scott Smith Jr., chairman and chief executive officer of Fulton Financial Corporation.
Angela Snyder, who is currently president and CEO of The Bank, will become CEO of the combined bank. Many Chamber Members will remember that Angela Snyder served as Chair of the Chamber Board in 2007.
Steve Miller, currently president of Skylands Bank, will serve as president and chief operating officer.
Warner Knobe, a current director at The Bank, was recently appointed chair of The Bank’s board of directors, succeeding Scott Kintzing, who
retired from the company on July 26.
Knobe and Snyder, who was recently named vice chair of The Bank’s board, will continue to serve in these roles for Fulton Bank of New Jersey
once the two banks unite.
“The new name that they have selected — Fulton Bank of New Jersey — will enable customers who travel to more easily access all of our banking
services throughout New Jersey and our ATMs in Pennsylvania and Delaware through our largest subsidiary, Fulton Bank, N.A.,” said Smith.
“Since we intend to operate the merged bank with the same management team, branch structure and local decision-making power that is in place
today, it makes sense to continue to deliver our services through a state-chartered bank that is focused on attracting and retaining customers
throughout New Jersey.”
The Bank currently has 48 branches in Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cumberland, Gloucester, Mercer, Monmouth, Ocean, and Salem counties
and Skylands Community Bank has 27 offices in Hunterdon, Middlesex, Morris, Somerset, Sussex and Warren counties.
In Salem County, The Bank has branches in Mannington, Woodstown, Alloway, Pennsville, Sharptown, Carneys Point, and Elmer. The Bank also
has an ATM operation in The Memorial Hospital of Salem County in Mannington.
The combined assets of the two banks total approximately $3.5 billion.
Fulton Financial Corporation is a Lancaster, Pa.-based $16 billion financial holding company that has 3,950 employees and that operates 271
branches in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey and Virginia through seven subsidiary banks.

Today, The Chamber bids a fond farewell and best wishes to Administrative Assistant, Sherri Kershner after three years of dedicated service to our organization. Sherri has accepted a position as the K-3 teacher at Salem County Christian Academy, her
new job begins on August 24. Sherri’s children attend school at the Academy and she has been an active volunteer there for the
last 5 years serving as their PTA President and Spring Drama Director. It is a good move for Sherri and her family, but it leaves
a large hole to fill here in the office. We thank her for her dedication and diligence and a job well done and wish her great success as she begins a new chapter in her life. Sherri officially starts at Salem County Christian Academy on August 24 for their
new school year.
Please join us in welcoming Tammy L. Donaldson who began as our Administrative Assistant on August 18th. Tammy is a lifelong County resident who makes her home in Lower Alloways Creek with her husband Harry, and son Garrett. She also has
a step-daughter Chelsea. Tammy has had extensive experience working in an office as well as customer service experience in
both retail and corporate sales. Her past employers include VWR International, Uniglobe Travel and Canvas Bag Gallery. She
has a Certificate in Business Law and Human Resource Management from the Rutgers University School of Business.
Feel free to stop into the office to meet Tammy, or she can be reached at 856-339-4427, or at
[email protected] (until we add in her new email address).
We are glad to have Tammy join our office staff and thank Board Members Betsy Amoroso and Sue Ann Leighty for serving on
the search committee.
