Brioche Pattern:
Rows 1 and 3: (WS) slip first stitch, knit to end
Row 2: (RS) slip first stitch, *k1, k1 into the stitch below, repeat
from * to last st, k1
Row 4: (RS) slip first stitch, K1 *k1 into the stitch below k1, repeat
from * to last st, k1
Lower edge:
Cast on 12 st. (To be *really* neat you can use waste yarn and a
provisional cast on, so that – at the very end – you can sew the
final corner edge to your cast on using a garter kitchener stitch.)
Slip the first stitch at the beginning of the first row (RS) and every
subsequent RS row. This will give you a good platform to pick up
the stitches for knitting the body of the blanket.
Knit the edging chart sixteen times.
Main body:
At the end of the sixteenth chart repeat, put the remaining 12 live
stitches on waste yarn, and turn the work. Then knit into the
slipped stitch loop bumps along the top of the lace edge. You should
have 64 stitches.
Remembering to slip the first stitch of EACH row, knit the four row
brioche pattern thirty three times (132 rows in total). Knit one
row plain knit, and put all the live stitches onto waste yarn.

Knit the edge chart, knitting up the length slipped stitches as you
go. (You might need to skip the odd length stitch so as to keep the
edging from being too loose.) There should be fifteen edge chart
repeats along each side.
Knit another corner, then knit the edging chart sixteen times
along the top, knitting up a live stitch from the top of the blanket
every right side row.
Knit another corner, and repeat the edging chart along the other
side, again for fifteen repeats.
Knit another corner, then graft the final edge to the original cast on
edge.
Block and you’re done!
Enjoy.
