Marc Clement put down his musical roots playing around campfires and family hoedowns in and around Dauphin
Manitoba. In recent years he has focused on writing his own music leading to his first full production recording,
CROOKED JOURNEY produced by Shawn “Swifty” Jonasson. Bent towards alternative country and rock and roll, this
singer-songwriter has a diverse style ranging from introspective and soulful to inspirational and fun. Musical influences
that bleed through include a mix of artists like Neil Young, Johnny Cash, Bruce Springsteen and Tom Waits. Always an
engaging and charismatic performer, Marc connects with audiences.
Clement's writing comes from his own take on shared experiences and perspectives, familiar to many. His diverse
collection of songs on his debut album CROOKED JOURNEY (released October 2015), run the gamut from power
ballads and painfully raw hurting songs to elevating two-steppers, and back around to motivating rock. Subject matter
includes living for today, love in the new age, regret, and personal demons. Canadian stories are told of the touring
musician and the oil rig worker.
Notable artists that appear on the record include: Shawn “Swifty” Jonasson (Old Reliable, The Swiftys), Shuyler Jansen
(Old Reliable, solo artist), Dan Walsh (slide guitar legend), Darrek Anderson (The Dungarees), Kayla Luky (solo artist)
Ian Macintosh (The Sturgeons), and Melisa Stefaniw (The George Bushes, solo artist).
Marc is joined live by The Journeymen including: Shawn Jonasson (lead guitar, keyboards), John Wilson (lap-steel,
guitars), Todd Lesage (drums), Jose Cabral (bass) with Annette Clement providing harmony. Marc has also performed
as half of The Handsome Fatties, and as accompaniment alongside Canadian recording artists including The Swiftys and
Mike Lynch.
