Online Registration Open for PCAC Summer Art Programs
The Plymouth Community Arts Council is now accepting registrations for their 2015 Summer
Art Camp program. For the second year, the PCAC is offering online registration and payment
options to make it more convenient for families to sign up for camp. Camps run for 9 weeks,
beginning June 22, with no camps scheduled July 6-10. Campers who register by May 30th get
a free camp t-shirt, a new promotion for this year.
The 43-session season offers something for everyone, including five camps just for young artists age 5-7, and twelve workshops designed especially for teens. Most camps are for 3 hours
a day for 5 days, Monday-Friday. Fully-staffed Before, After and Lunch Care options are available for $5 each per day. For the fourth year, one-on-one Art Buddies are available at no extra
charge for art campers with special needs. The pilot program started in 2012 with generous
Arts For All grant from The Wilcox Foundation.
Veteran instructor and puppet designer/voice performer Chase Woolner (a local talent of Muppet Movie fame) will be teaching again this summer with camps in Film Making, Stop Motion
Animation and Commercial Performance. New camps for
this summer will be Harry Pottery, Yoga, Advertising Art,
Up- cycled Art, Shark Week, Fashion Design, Art in the
Third Dimension (sculpture), Type & Graphics and Flower
Power. In addition, there are popular repeat offerings that
always well-attended: Musical Performing Arts, Guitar, Experimental Art, Build It and Cartooning. Lesson plans are
updated each year, so well-loved camps are always full of
new activities.
The registration website has features to help families find
the right camp for their kids. Age, date and time filters allow
only the qualifying camps to appear for selection. For example, you may search for camps for 9 year-olds, in the
afternoons, during the month of August only. Parents can click on a camp title to read the full
description.
All PCAC instructors have experience in their field and with the age groups they are teaching.
PCAC summer camp assistants are assigned to camp classes based on enrollment and expertise. For the past 2 summers, over 500 seats were filled during each 9-week program.
Campers can register online by clicking the orange registration button on the homepage of our
website, www.plymoutharts.com Families may also register in person, or by phone or by
mail. Registrations are accepted until midnight on the Thursday before the camp begins or until
the class capacity is reached. In-person registrations are accepted until 4:00pm on Thursday
for the next week’s camps.
