CONFIRMATION: Due to time and expense, we do not send confirmations when classes are going as
scheduled. Assume your registration is confirmed and the class will meet as scheduled if you have
submitted your registration form and fees. You will only be notified if a class is filled or cancelled.
PRE-REGISTRATION: Pre-registration is of utmost importance. Lack of registrations will cause the
class to be cancelled one week prior to the beginning.
WEATHER CANCELLATIONS: If school is cancelled due to bad weather, all buildings will be closed
and all PACE offerings that same evening will be cancelled. If school is in session, generally, evening
programs will run. Instructors may cancel at their discretion and let you know otherwise.
REFUND POLICY: If, after pre-registering, it is necessary for you to cancel, notify the PACE Office no
less than one week before the beginning of class, your fee, minus a $5.00 cancellation fee, will be refunded.
Not attending a class or camp you registered for does not qualify you for a refund.
NON-SUFFICIENT-FUND CHECK POLICY: A fee of $35 will be added to the amount of the NSF
check, and full reimbursement must be paid in cash, to the PACE Office, prior to attending the selection.

SUMMER SCHOOL 2014!
All Summer School class lists, descriptions and the online
registration information was sent home with district elementary
students in their Take-Home Folders. That handbook is also
available online at: www.pulaskipace.org Look for Summer School on the homepage. Online registration opened
to the public Wednesday, April 2 at 5:00pm and closes on Monday, April 23 at 4:00pm.
Anyone needing help to register may stop at PACE on April 2 from 5-8pm or during school
hours, after that. We have over 400 classes to choose from, as well as the Red Raider Rec
program, along with transportation and lunch options. Classes are available for children
entering the PEEP 4K program through students entering their senior year of high
school. We will again be offering High School Phy. Ed. for credit; pre-registration
required through the PHS Student Services Office. We are also offering some classes as
recovery for failed classes, some as Enrichment, and AP Prep at the high school level.

GREEN BAY BULLFROGS will be one of our Day Trips in 2014. We
will be attending the Green Bay Bullfrogs game on Monday, June 30. We will
be offering at least three Day Trips this summer; we also hope to include a trip
to Joannes Water Park in Green Bay. Get your spot reserved now! Register and

PHS Library-Media Information Center is open to the public on Monday through Thursday from 3-4:30pm.

Monday, April 21 EASTER BRUNCH We are trying something different this year, we will be celebrating
Easter with a brunch at St. John Church at 910 S. St. Augustine Street. Join us at10:30am for some entertainment and Easter activities with the brunch starting at 11:00am. Suggested donation of $4 per person.

The first 100 RSVP’s will be accepted.
Wednesday, May 28...Travel south with us along the lakeshore to Sheboygan. We’ll have breakfast, a light
lunch and supper between stops at a Sculpture Garden, Kohler Arts Center, and Lakeshore Technical
College Culinary Arts Restaurant. Wear walking shoes and bring your appetite. Leaving St. John—Pulaski
parking lot at 7:30am, returning about 8pm.
Registration required with PACE. Cost is $120 Must have 40 paid registrants by April 30 to run this trip.
Wednesday, July 23…Mandatory for Men, but Women are Welcome too. We will be touring Apple Creek
Whitetail Ranch near Gillett in the morning (hunters be prepared...you will see some actual 30 point bucks)
then we will travel to Doc’s Harley Davidson of Shawano County for a man-size meal and an afternoon
touring the facilities there.
Finally, we end our visit with a stop at “Custard’s Last Stand” for ice cream desserts before heading home.
Leaving Glenbrook School—downtown Pulaski parking lot at 7:30am and returning about 5pm.
Cost is $49 and we must have 40 paid registrations by July 1 to run this trip.
Wednesday, September 10...Third Annual Amish Tour with sweet rolls and coffee and lunch in Amish
Homes, stopping at Amish farms, stores, businesses, and their school for a visit. We will also point out the
Shawano County Barn Quilts along the way. Sign up early, as this trip has sold out every year.
Leaving St. John—Pulaski parking lot at 8:30am, returning about 5pm.
Registration required with PACE; must have 40 paid registrants by August 18 to run this trip. Cost is $50
Wednesday, October 8...Wine and Dine Door County…Starting our day with sweets and coffee in Carlsville, then on to our first winery and orchard before stopping for lunch. Lunch in Fish Creek. After lunch,
we’ll stop at our second winery and enjoy cheese and chocolates with our wine. Then, a quick stop for some
shopping in route to supper (Family style Irish fare) at an Irish Pub; drink a dark ale if you dare, after all you
are wining and dining. Fall colors, wineries and meals included. Leaving St. John—Pulaski parking lot at
7:30am, returning about 8:30pm.

Wednesday, December 17...Progressive Christmas Tour. Tour a variety of area churches to view their
Christmas decor. We will be eating a meal along the way, in bits and pieces, and may be treated to some
entertainment as well. Stops may include: Pulaski, Bonduel, Angelica, Seymour or Shawano, ending with
dessert at St. John Lutheran in Pulaski. Some locations will have several steps and a good deal of slow
paced walking is required to see everything. Leaving St. John—Pulaski parking lot at 8:00am, returning
about 4pm for the St. John visit..

We’re trying something big and beautiful! Join us for a trip to Central
Europe; includes Poland, Czech Repbublic, Hungary and Germany – 15
days – 16 with travel - this fall. Still plenty of time to save up.
Travel with friends from Pulaski and Brown County and tour guides.

at the Pulaski Senior Center in January. The date and time will be

MULTI-GENERATIONAL PROGRAMS
DOG - OBEDIENCE TRAINING
Puppy class is for dogs up to 6 months of age. We will work on socializing puppies and teaching basic commands. There is a lot
of time for discussion in the classes on every issue a puppy can have. Manners class is for dogs over the age of 6 months. Both
newly adopted dogs from the shelter and dogs that need a brush up on their manners are welcome! If you think you have an
aggressive dog, please contact the instructor before signing up for the class. Intermediate Manners is for the more advanced dog
who has already completed a Beginning Manners Class. We will work on heeling off leash, recall with distance and distractions,
and sit and down stay adding time and distance.
Please bring your dog in on a 6-8 foot leash (No flexi-leads), along with any harnesses or collars you use for walking/training.
Bring soft treats (No dog food or milk bones). Proof of current vaccinations (Rabies, distemper, and bordatella). These are the
three vaccinations dog’s must have to participate in the classes. and current Vet’s name and address will be required prior to the
first day of class. The family is encouraged to come! Children must be old enough to sit on chairs and not distract the discussions

The American Kennel Club (AKC) Canine Good Citizenship Class (CGC) is for dogs that are ready for a challenging obedience
training. CGC will test handler and dog as a team in 10 areas (accept a friendly stranger, sit politely for petting, good grooming
manners, walk on a loose leash, walk through a crowd, stay on command, come when called, behave politely around another dog,
react appropriately to distractions, and separate from their handler for 3 minutes) using standards set by the AKC.

This class is being offered in Pulaski in conjunction with the Department of Natural Resources to all

NEW FOOD PRESERVATION CLASSES THIS SUMMER!
These classes will be taught by Judy Knudsen, from the UW-Extension in Green Bay.
Her phone number is 920-391-4651, if you have any questions. Each class will run from
6:30-about 9:00pm. Most classes will be held in Room 1096 of the Middle School. We will
use the entrance from the north that goes directly to that classroom; follow driveway 1A.
All classes are on Wednesday evenings.
Each class needs a minimum of 8 registrants and will be maxed out at 12 to keep the
classes small. These will be hands-on classes with samples to taste and possibly some
products to take home. Bring your friends and older children to learn these skills.

It is recommended that students complete the classroom as close to age 15 1/2 as
possible. No learners permits (temps) are issued by the Wisconsin D.O.T. until this
age is met. Wisconsin State temps test is taken in the classroom phase however, the temps must be picked up at a
DMV Service Center. Classes may be cancelled if the minimum of 6 students is not met.

CHILDCARE/BABY-SITTING
Baby-sitting is a serious job, which demands a strong sense of responsibility. Students in this class learn techniques
as well as safety and emergency procedures. All students are required to do homework and attend all sessions in
order to complete the class. Each participant who successfully completes this program will receive a Certificate of
Completion which may be picked up at the PACE office at 132 Front St. between 8-5 on school days. Please allow
two weeks for the Reviews to be corrected and the cerificates to be made. Min.8 & Max 12.

Glenbrook’s After-School AAA will start on September 2, 2014 and run every day we have school, pay by
the quarter, with “tutoring” help, friends and play. We need a minimum of 15 students to run a program at

At the middle school the AAA program runs in 2-3 week segments. Some of the recent offerings have been:
Art Club, Scrapbooking, Woodworking, Tennis, Bowling, Forensics, Camping at Peninsula State Park, and

CHILDREN’S LESSONS
Our staff is certified in Red Cross CPR/AED, First Aid, and Lifeguard Training. We teach the Red Cross swimming curriculum.
Parents are welcome to watch lessons from the bleachers. Children 5 and older are asked to use the appropriate changing room.
We are ADA compliant with lift & stairs. NO CELL PHONES ALLOWED IN LOCKER ROOMS.
Parent /Tot: Ages 6 months to 3 years, parent accompanies child in the water.
Pre-School Aquatics: Ages 4-5 years, no parent accompanies child.
Levels 1-6: Child must be 6 years old. Children are registered by skill. Please call the pool with questions pertaining to appropriate level
placement. No lesson confirmation will be sent.

DAY CARE AT GLENBROOK SCHOOL IN PULASKI
We are excited to invite new families interested in joining our program; we have openings in our child care
program for children ages 6 weeks to 6 years old. We offer care for infants, toddlers, preschool age and before/after school for
4K/PEEP & Kindergarten students. Our teachers are all state certified child care providers and maintain their continuing
education yearly to stay abreast of all rules, regulations and knowledge in the areas of early education. All children enrolled in
our program may utilize the school’s gymnasiums, library, cafeteria, and walk through the school halls, while attending music
class and elementary school performances. We also spend a great deal of time enjoying the outdoors with our two playgrounds,
walking around the neighborhoods and going to the Brown County Library.

The Trip: Perfect for paddlers of all ages and abilities with such
infamous rapids as Gilmore Mistake, Burnt Shanty and Shotgun Eddy,
the longest rapids on the Wolf River. Approximately 2 hours (6 miles)
Class III rapids: Strong current, big drops, narrow paths, high white

evening of food, fun and great music. Please bring a dish to pass. Dinner starts at 5:30 p.m. Then
sit back to be entertained by the singers of the WPS Chorus. With 25 voices strong, they sing a
variety of songs from oldies to gospel to Broadway show tunes. Don’t be surprised if you go

Wednesday, May 21…GEOCACHING ~ Try this NEW & FUN activity! At this event, we will
go on a treasure hunt to explore and find existing “caches” hidden in the Greenleaf area. This can
be a team effort or done on an individual basis. Bring your family or friends if you’d like. Feel
free to bring your own GPS or tracking device but not required for this event. Great chance to
meet new people and have fun outdoors. We’ll carpool from Pulaski to meet another group at
the Aging & Disability Resource Center. A picnic lunch will be provided. Call 822-8100 to

Wednesday, June 18…FARM TRIP $28 ~ Learn how the dairy industry has changed over the
years. This trip begins with a tour of Henning’s Cheese Factory in Kiel where we’ll watch them
make cheese, tour their museum and gift shop and sample their cheeses. From there, we’ll head
to the Denmark Senior Center for lunch before departing for Pagels Ponderosa in Kewaunee.
See how this farm went from a small operation to its current state of being a Mega Farm. The
coach bus picks up at 7:30 a.m. at the New Life Community Church on Crest Dr. and returns
about 4:00 p.m. Call 822-8100 to sign up.
Wednesday, June 25…BREWERS GAME $50 ~ Sponsored by the Aging & Disability Resource
Center in Green Bay. A fun day at Miller Park with the Brewers playing the Washington
Nationals. The bus will pick up in Pulaski and Green Bay. Cost includes coach bus, lower level

Monday, June 30… BULLFROGS BASEBALL GAME & BUFFET LUNCH $18 ~ What better

night trip. We leave from Pulaski and stop in Wausau for lunch and tour of the Leigh Yawkey
House. Then on to Minocqua where we visit the Wildlife Park, check into our hotel and head for
dinner at Paul Bunyan Restaurant. Free time after dinner. The next morning after breakfast, we
tour a cranberry marsh in Manitowish Waters, have lunch at Culvers and watch Scheer’s
Lumberjack Show in Woodruff. Cost is $195 which includes coach bus, hotel, tour admissions

PACE PIANO LESSONS
STUDENTS & ADULTS: If you are interested in taking piano lessons during the day at any of several of
the Pulaski schools, call the PACE office for information. PACE has offered piano lessons for many years.
Mrs. Bev Heling, the piano instructor, has trained hundreds of local pianists. Her number is 715-758-8600.
Registration and first quarter payment must be received in the PACE office before lessons can start.
PRIVATE/COMMUNITY PIANO & GUITAR LESSONS
PACE keeps a list of local people who are willing to teach piano and guitar lessons. The costs and locations
are individually set between the families and the teachers. Call PACE at 822-6050 if you would like your
name and talent added to this list. We are also looking to include violin and organ teachers to our list of
