What is MasterMAN?
MasterMAN is an innovative planning tool for Multi-Airport
Remote Control, which elevates the ATC of small, regional airports
to a higher level.
Why do you need MasterMAN?
A range of smaller regional airports provide air traffic control
despite of a very low traffic volume. Air traffic controllers in duty
there often are underloaded due to many off-peak times. With
MasterMAN air traffic control can be provided in a more efficient
way: via Multiple Airport Control.
What is Multi Airport Control?
Various international research projects have been working on
remote air traffic control centers which can solve efficiency
problems: In analogy to the sector combination in low traffic by
center control, several airports are controlled at the same time
from a central location via Multiple Airport Control. This concept
of the Multi-Airport Remote Controller (MARCo) is particularly
advantageous at small regional airports, where providing air traffic
services would otherwise imply high costs due to necessary staff
and infrastructure.
MasterMAN: planning tool for MARCo!
In his monitoring and controlling of all flight movements of up
to three remote airports, MARCo is supported by a new working
position and an innovative, reliable assistance system: MasterMAN.
MasterMAN supports MARCo in his planning tasks by providing
an intuitive overview of all flight movements at the remote airports
at any time.
