Helen, Georgia’s 46th Annual
And Stone Mountain
September 23-26, 2016
Helen, nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains on the Chattahoochee River, is a re-creation of an alpine village, complete with cobblestone alleys and old-world towers. Helen’s Oktoberfest is the longest running in the U.S.! We stay 2 nights at a great hotel with
fantastic hospitality. Our time in Helen will include a guided tour of the local area, including Historic Sautee Village (storied history, a vibrant contemporary arts community and a place to escape the hectic pace of the big city), Babyland General Hospital (the
birthplace of Cabbage Patch Kids) and more. We’ll also enjoy a delicious German dinner at an awesome local bakery. Germanstyle bands from around the world play on stage with the occasional alphorn, cowbell and accordion intertwined. At the main
event, Oktoberfest, enjoy dinner at long tables then dance (no lederhosen required!) or “chair dance” in their Festhalle. This year
we’ve added a day! Enjoy a day at Stone Mountain, including the iconic Summit Skyride for a spectacular view, the full-size train
with 1940s rail cars on a 5-mile scenic trek, a classic “Yogi Bear” film in 4-D, historic building from around Georgia at Historic
Square, 18 holes of mini-golf and the museum containing artifacts of Stone Mountain’s history.
