Greyspace Interior Design
is a partnership formed by Architects Kurt Jensen and David Fey and Interior Designer Carmen
Sorensen for the sole purpose of providing fully integrated design services to the hospitality
marketplace. Each partner has over 30 years of experience in their respecƟve fields, each with 15 yrs
specifically related to Branded Hotel design. We share the same enthusiasm for our work
today as we did in the beginning of our careers.

that welcome, places to relax and recharge, as well as, opportuniƟes to mingle, work and play.
Style
Our style is Ɵmeless. We are able to quickly adapt to industry trends however, we do not
necessarily subscribe to them. Keeping apprised of new and innovaƟve design soluƟons
and general direcƟon of the hospitality market is key to our clients success. With our eye
on current trends, we strive to posiƟon our projects to have lasƟng style by using the best of
new innovaƟons and avoiding gimics. We welcome the opportunity to design in whatever our
clients desired style preference may be.
Team
Our partnership insures an integrated team approach. Greyspace enjoys the benefit of collaboraƟng with Architects, Consultants and Contractor at early stages to avoid surprises and
improve communicaƟon. By miƟgaƟng issues early, we are able to deliver a seamless and
coordinated design package that meet or exceed our clients expectaƟons.

Carmen Sorensen
Director of Interior Design

Carmen’s interior design career spans over 30 years and
includes experience in all areas of the Hospitality design
profession. Her experience includes; Restaurants, Bars,
Hotels, Casino Resorts and Conference Centers. In the hotel
market segment, She has experience with a wide range of
Hotel proper es from Limited Service Brand hotels to Full
Service Experien al resorts.
Carmen spent 8 years doing exclusively restaurant and bar
design. During those years she worked alongside experts
in restaurant layout, kitchen equipment designers, menu
planners, and restaurant furniture vendors. She worked with
teams that developed popular rollouts for Restaurants Unlimited. Her knowledge of food and beverage design is a key
core strength in providing func onally sound dining, hotel,
casino and conference venues.
For non-prototypical hotels, her most recent work was with
a new full service brand hotel, Travaasa. Carmen assisted
with reposi oning exis ng proper es in Aus n, TX., Hana
Maui and the Vanderbilt Mansion in Lenox, Mass. Berkshires
region to maximize the assets full service poten al.
Carmen specializes in crea ng fresh and impac ul environments that successfully meet the demands of the targeted
market. She con nually strives to deliver a high level of
design and client service. As Principal and Partner at
Greyspace, Carmen shares her passion and principles for
delivering strong , smart design with staff and clients alike.
