fraternal leadership path towards enhancing our existing programs.

For the first time ever, the Manassas Chapter won the Shining Star
Award for Chapter of the Year!!! All Manassas Chapter co-workers
have a part in this award. You should be proud of your hard work
and dedication which makes our fraternity truly shine! When anyone sees a Chapter co-worker, congratulate her on what she does.
We will have the award on display in the social quarters for all to
enjoy.

Announcements News
and other Items:
The Bull Run Legion 185 Bull Roast will be held at the Fedricksburg Lodge #1655 on
September 6th from 2 till whenever.
The Virginia Moose Association has asked us to host the State Dart Tournament. This will
be taking place from October 17th thru the 19th . This will be huge. Dart players from all
over the state will be at our lodge competing for prizes. Any and all volunteers are needed.
The Kitchen as well as social quarters will be busy and will need extra hands. Let us know if
you are available and want to help.
WOTM bake sale was a huge success, so our next bake sale will be September 5th from 6:00
to 8:30 so come on out and support the WOTM! and Ladies we will need donations for the
bake sale please.
We have begun planning for our Haunted House this year. It will be held on October30th
and 31st. If you would like to volunteer to help prepare or be a part of it let the Officers
know. It is a huge undertaking for just a couple of days and all help is welcome.
We have formed a Special Committee for the Lodge repairs/ upgrades and improvements.
The committee members are working on proposals for the Lodge. If you have any ideas or
requests please forward them to me so I can pass them on. Decisions will be made by the
committee and brought before the Board of Officers for discussion.
Manassas Moose Lodge #1380 has instituded a new dress code. There is a poster up on the
bulliten board by the front door and it is up on the monitors. Check it out and get familiar
with it, you would not want to miss out on the fun because you were turned away at the
door.
Cross sponsorship started August 1st, 2014. Men are now allowed to sponsor women into
the WOTM and women are now allowed to sponsor men into the Lodge.
The playground has been closed for repairs. Please make sure that your children do not play
on the playground. Your children should be uner your supervision at all times.

Dear Brothers,
As we summer draws to a close and we head in to the new school year, lets all try to remember to watch out for the
children and school buses. They are our future. As fall sets in we have a lot of fun activities coming our way and we
can always use help. If you would like to volunteer, just ask a board member who you should talk to. I know they
guys in the kitchen on sunday mornings never turn down help, the more the merrier. Remember we are a fraternal
orginization that prides itself on service. To paraphrase the late John Kenedy; It is not what the Moose Lodge can do
for you, but what you can do for the Moose Lodge. Remember that many hands make for light work. So get up, get
out, and pitch in.

Hello co-workers,
I’d like to take a moment to congratulate our Governor Dennis Rossi on his big win of the candy bar cake, and we’d also like to
think Harriet Mohr for donating such a beautiful candy bar cake to our chapter for the raffle. We appreciate everything you do
for our chapter.
WOTM bake sale is a huge success our next bake sale will be September 5th from 6:00 to 8:30 so come on out and support the

Please don’t forget WOTM also have hamburgers and hotdogs and subs so come see us on Monday night and we will fill your
tummy. We also serve breakfast the 2nd and 5th Sunday of the month all you can eat buffet. The sales of the school busses are a
big success also. The WOTM would like thank you all for helping fill back to school back packs for needy children
Ladies we are in desperate need of members we really need to get our membership back up. If anyone has any ideas please bring
it to the board, we are open to all ideas. So Ladies lets try as hard as we can to bring in more members please. Thank you

chapter 1392
The Manassas Moose Lodg #1380 made a donation the Timmy “Mini”
Terrill’s Mini’s Mission Charity. Mini as he is called around the track
came the membership meeting to tell us about his charity. Listening to
this young man speak was truely amazing. He passion for the cause to
eliminate childhood cancer was evident. NASCAR’s Jeff Gordon found
out about his charity and met with him. The two decided to join forces
and Mini has partnered with the Jeff Gordon’s Childrens Foundation. It
was definitely a pleasure meeting this young man and hearing what he

As you enter the Manassas Moose Lodge, did you ever wonder why that ZIP lock plastic bag is
hanging from the WOTM bulletin board? It is there to collect Box Top Labels for Education
and Campbells’s Soup Labels for Education. Box Top Labels are printed on lots of the household
goods we use every day like Pillsbury and Betty Crocker cake mixes, Fruit Rollups, ZIP lock
bags, Kleenex tissues, Huggies, Hefty bags, Cottonelle, Cheerios and other cereals -- and lots of
other products. If all of our members would collect these labels, we would be doing our part to
make sure that our children at Mooseheart have a better future. How is this done? These labels
are used by Mooseheart International Headquarters to buy the following items: books, musical
instruments, athletic equipment, computers, and many more items that are used on a daily basis on our Mooseheart campus -- for OUR children!!!!!!!!!!!! Please start collecting these labels
and bring them to the lodge on a regular basis and insert them into that ZIP lock plastic bag,
and I will take care of collecting them and sending them in on behalf of the Manassas Chapter
