Record Amount of Gift Certificates Sold!
This past December, the Chamber sold a record amount of
Chamber gift certificates! $18,185 to be exact! That is up from
$11,000 sold in 2013! Thank you to the many businesses that
purchased gift certificates for their employees!
The great thing about our gift certificates is that the money stays
here in Stoughton and helps our local Chamber member
businesses!

2015-2016 Community & Visitor Guide
The beginning of the year means it’s time to update our annual Stoughton Community and
Visitor Guide. We are printing 13,000 copies of this guide to be delivered to the
approximate 9,000 households in the 53589 zip code. The remainder will be distributed
throughout town, at other Chambers and sent to visitors requesting information. New this
year, is the ability to flip through the book on our website! Every Chamber member receives
a free listing including a website address. Please take a moment to visit our website and
search for your business in the business directory search (located above and to the right of
the banner photo). Please make sure the information that is displayed is current. If not,
please contact us and provide us with the correct information. Once again, we will be
working with Unified Newspaper Group to create this piece. Catherine Stang of the Courier
Hub will be contacting businesses in the next week for advertising opportunities!
The Future Wisconsin Project
What will Wisconsin look like in 20 years? What will our
workforce look like? What sort of businesses will thrive in
our economy? How will our tech colleges and universities
stack up to those in other states? What sort of jobs will be
available? Will we be able to grow our economy if we can’t
find the labor to fill the jobs?
On Wednesday, December 3rd, seven Stoughton individuals
joined the discussion at the first annual Future Wisconsin
Summit in Milwaukee. Sponsored by Wisconsin
Manufacturers and Commerce, groups discussed
Wisconsin’s business future in 20 years – including how to
attract a new generation of workers to fill increasingly
high-tech jobs, as well as skilled trade positions left vacant
by retirees.
Governor Scott Walker speaks to the
Future Wisconsin Project attendees

2013-2014 Membership Financial Report
The Chamber’s finances are in great shape. With good financial management, we were able
to add to our reserves while accomplishing our goals and fulfilling our commitments to the
membership and community. Click here to view the 2013-2014 Financial Report.

Kicks Unlimited launched a new location on December 1st, 2014 in Stoughton, Wisconsin.
This new location was acquired from Stoughton Martial Arts and gives residents of
Stoughton access to the unique approach to martial arts education that Kicks Unlimited has
given Dane County residents since opening in 2002.
Kicks Unlimited has a unique offering for martial arts school and is the brainchild of martial
artist, Jason Huett. In addition to offering top flight martial arts instruction for kids, teens,
and adults, Kicks Unlimited intergrates womens’ self-defense, and anti-bully curriculum into
their service mix.
The new location is at 1470 East Main Street in Stoughton. The grand opening will be held
on January 17th and will be open to the public. For more details, visit
www.kicksunlimitedstoughton.com.
Growth in Dane County 2000-2010
This chart was provided by Coldwell Banker SUCCESS and shows the population growth in
Dane County between 2000 and 2010. If you look at the third column, which is % change in
population, you will notice that Stoughton’s growth rate was only 2% compared to other
cities in Dane County. The Chamber is committed to working with the City of Stoughton, the
Stoughton School District and with other concerned community leaders to promote
Stoughton a great place to live.
