Corn-O-Kubbia – July 19th
People are talking about it. People are seeing games being played, or playing it at
graduation parties. Kubb is taking off like wildfire!
On July 19th, the Stoughton Chamber is hosting Corn-O-Kubbia at Mandt Park. This day-long
event will have both a Cornhole (bags) Tournament and a Kubb Tournament. Players will
compete in one game or the other for cash prizes. We expect about 120 participants, and at
least that many spectators. We will be using the Mandt Center and Mandt Park for the
games, concessions and beer sales.
Consider sponsoring the event! And put the date on your calendar – come play or watch!
For registration and sponsor forms, click HERE.
Coffee Break Festival – August 16th
On Saturday, August 16th, 2011 the 17th Annual Coffee Break Festival will take place at
Mandt Park from 9:00am – 3:30pm. To find more information or applications to the A&C
Fair, Car Show or Java Job, visit the Coffee Break website
www.stoughtonwi.com/coffeebreak/default.asp
Looking to promote your business? There are still sponsorship opportunities available for
the Coffee Break Festival. Get your logo on festival t-shirts, signage and marketing
materials. There are also specific event sponsorships available (beer tent and bean spitting
contest)! This event has grown over the years and is attended by hundreds of locals and
non-locals alike. If you have questions or are interested in sponsorship, call Dave Gasner at
608-877-2679 or Erica at the Chamber office 608-873-7912.
We are also looking for volunteers to help out with the various events during the day. If you
or someone you know can spare 1-2 hours that day, please let us know! You’ll get a free tshirt!

Catfish River Music Festival
The 2014 Catfish River Music Festival is set to
take place July 3rd - July 6th and is the first of
what is to become an annual Stoughton
Opera House fundraising event. The festival
features free live music at the Rotary Park
gazebo immediately outside the theater as
well as ticketed headliner performances from
Gillian Welch, Greg Brown, and Iris DeMent in
the Opera House during the evenings.
Food vendors will be on-hand to suit all tastes
- from veggies to brats, if you can't find
something to make your tummy happy it's a
very short walk to tons of great local food.
Artists, sellers of goods, and local non-profits will also be set-up and eager to say hello. In
addition, it's just a short two block stroll to the Stoughton Junior Fair and Carnival in Mandt
Park. Come for the music and stay for the fireworks - 9:30pm July 4th and July 6th!
In addition to a range of non-alcoholic beverages there will also be beer and wine for sale.
All proceeds will go to keep the Opera House operating, so your patronage is much
appreciated. Please remember to bring a valid ID if you plan to drink while at the festival.
It's going to be a ton of fun, so come on out and say hello!
Local Businesses Can Help FFA Youth - Buy Their Animals
Rob White, Stoughton Fair organizer is looking for businesses that are willing to come down
to bid on and purchase animals that are raised by area youth during the Stoughton Junior
Fair. Once you purchase the animal, the meat can be donated to the local Food Shelf. You
would be helping out young kids as they receive a financial reward by selling their animals
and the local food shelf wins too! If you are interested make sure to attend the auction,
scheduled for 12:30pm on Saturday, July 5th.

Meet the 2014 Leadership Stoughton Graduates!
Congratulations to the 2014 Leadership Stoughton graduates. They recently celebrated
graduation with a dinner at BBG’s. During the nine month class participants got a to hear
from a broad range of Stoughton leaders and worked together on service projects that
ranged from helping the Stoughton Library with cataloging life events to helping the Shalom
Free Clinic with marketing materials to populating a database with contact information on
all Stoughton businesses. Our next Leadership Stoughton class will start in September 2015.
Look for details to come out next spring.
The Chamber would like to give a warm and heartfelt “Thank You” to Jessica Pharo for
running this event for us. She does a wonderful job!
