AMERICAN IDOL I’m sure everyone has heard “rumor
has it”, that we will be having our own American Idol
competition here at St Albert’s. Of course in order for this
event to be successful we need you to step forward and
show us what you can do. It can be singing, dancing,
playing an instrument, acting, reading, juggling, acrobatics,
telling jokes; or maybe you have a band. We will consider
anything that can be performed within the designated
staging area. You may pick up sign-up forms in the lobby
after mass. All forms must be in before September 9, 2012.
Auditions will begin September 15. We are also looking
for individuals who may be interested in being judges for
this competition. Please sign up in the lobby if you are
interested, we will need five individuals. OH! I almost
forgot! Thank you.

StAT Youth Ministry is hosting Friday Night Lights from
6:00-9:00pm in the KC Hall - Youth Ministry Center!
Come every Friday for faith, fellowship, and fun! The
Youth Ministry is open to youths in grades 8th-12th
(incoming 8th-graders up to out-going seniors).

St. Laurence’s Cancer Support Group
St. Laurence Catholic Church in Sugar Land, Texas has
a Cancer Support Group that provides support to cancer
survivors and caregivers. Our group would like to extend
an invitation to parishioners who are cancer survivors as
well as caregivers who might be interested in attending our
gatherings. We meet twice monthly, the first and third
Thursdays of every month from 10:00-11:30 AM. We
break for summer (July and August), and do not meet in
Holy Week. Meetings include guest speakers, and various
topics are discussed each week. We encourage all those
survivors and caregivers, to join us and feel the warmth
and welcoming we share. We all have been on a journey
with cancer, so come and share your story or just feel the
friendship by being with us.
St. Laurence Catholic Church is located at 3100
Sweetwater Blvd., Sugar Land, Texas 77479. The Cancer
Support Group will be back from summer break starting on
Thursday, September 6, 2012 in room C at 10:00 AM.
On September 20, 2012 we will have guest speakers from
our parish library, and the head of our social concerns
department. Cindy Cummings and Michelle Broussard
will talk about cancer as it relates to their particular

El Señor me ayuda, por eso no quedare confundido.
El Concilio de Mayordomía esta muy agradecido con todas
las personas que se hicieron presente el fin de semana de
Mayordomía que tomo lugar el 25 y 26 de Agosto. Los
lideres de los Ministerios dedican un tiempo durante todo el
año para servirles mejor a la comunidad de san Alberto
durante este fin de semana particular.
Siempre es
agradable ver a todas las familias de la parroquia unida para
alabar, compartir tiempo y darse la oportunidad de saber de
todos los diferentes ministerios que están disponibles en la
parroquia. Un Miembro del Ministerio esta allí para
explicarles como trabajan, y si las personas están interesada
le pide que se inscriban para que participen en el año
próximo. Cada individuo es llamado a compartir con un
corazón agradecido por todo que Dios le a hado.
Estamos agradecidos por tener 277 personas nuevas 613
que se re comprometieron eso hace un total de 890
personas sirviendo en los diferentes ministerios.
Su asistencia, su muestra de interés y compromiso con la
parroquia para lograr las metas nos demuestra que somos
una parroquia fuerte. Gracias por su participación en el fin
de semana de Mayordomía y su esfuerzo en el ministerio
que usted eligió para compartir su tiempo y talento.
