โปรแกรมนี้แบงออกเปน 3 สวน สวนที่ 1 เปนสวนฐานขอมูลของ Decapod crustaceans
861 สปชีส ของ 59 Family พัฒนาขึ้นโดยใช Microsoft Access 1997 สามารถคนหาโดย ชื่อ
อนุกรมวิธาร ชื่อผูคนพบและปที่พบ สถานที่พบและบริเวณที่สัตวชนิดนั้นใกลจะสูญพันธุ
สวนที่ 2 และ 3 พัฒนาขึ้นโดยใช Multimedia ToolBook II Instructor 8.5 ในสวนที่ 2
ประกอบดวย dichotomous key 6 ชุด ลักษณะของ key มีภาพวาดประกอบคําบรรยาย สามารถใช
ระบุ Subfamily ของ Family Portunidae, Genus ของ Subfamily Portuninae และ Species ของ
Genus Portunus, Genus Scylla, Genus Charybdis, และ Genus Thalamita ในสวนที่ 3 เปน
ภาพวาด และภาพถาย และรายละเอียดของลักษณะของปูมาแตละชนิดในประเทศไทย ทั้ง 43 สป

ABSTRACT
Computer software of Decapod Crustaceans Fauna in Thailand and an
illustrated key to identify Brachyuran was developed to run on a stand alone
personal computer, installed under Microsoft Windows operating systems.
The program consists of 3 parts. The first part, the database of 861 species
of 59 Families of Decapod Crustacean in Thailand, was implemented in Microsoft
Access 1997 database file format which allows search by name of taxa, taxonomists
and year, and locality and endemic area.
The second and third parts were constructed by using a multimedia
authoring tool, ToolBook II Instructor 8.5. The second part was the electronic
version of a dichotomous key for interactively identifying Portunid crab species of
Thailand, based on their characteristics. It consisted of 6 sets of key: key to identify
the Subfamily of Family Portunidae, the Genus of Subfamily Portuninae and the
Species of Genus Portunus, Genus Scylla, Genus Charybdis and Genus Thalamita.
Couplets in those keys were presented as text in combination with graphics and
pictures. The final part was the color illustrations and descriptions of the 43 species
of Thai Portunid crab.
This software can identify a Thai portunid crab to the level of
species and search for the classification and name, and distribution and endemic
area of Decapod crustaceans in Thailand. Information was taken from the latest
review (1998) by Thai carcinologists. Therefore, this computer software can be
used as an educational tool as well as a source of reference for all academics and
researchers.
