African American Inventors February is the Black History Month. Our class did this African American Inventors project through learning the history. By: Keri Townsend First Grade Class Watson Williams Elementary School, Utica, New York FEBRUARY IS BLACK HISTORY MONTH Barack H. Obama is the 44th President of the United States. President Obama is our first African American President in the United States. This is just a few of the many African American Inventors! TYPEWRITER By: Kaivon Burridge & Marshman invented the typewriter. It is useful because it helps you write letters. ROLLER COASTER By: Romel Granville T. Woods invented the rollercoaster. It is useful because it is fun to ride. LAWN SPRINKLER By: Arianna J.W. Smith invented the lawn sprinkler. It is useful because it waters the grass and flowers in the summer. It keeps the flowers big and growing. LAWN MOWER By: Charles John A. Burr invented the lawn mower. It is useful because you can cut your grass. HELICOPTER By: Thaw Paul E. Williams invented the helicopter. It is useful because it is a good way to ride around. ENVELOPE SEAL By: Daquell F.W. Leslie invented envelope seal. It is useful because our letters can’t fall out of the envelope. TOILET By: Kelly T. Elkins invented the toilet. It is useful because we can have it in our house. LOCK By: Alyssa W.A. Marshal invented the lock. It is useful because it keeps our things safe. PEANUT BUTTER By: Claudette George W. Carver invented peanut butter. It is useful because people use peanut butter for crackers, sandwiches, and other snacks. MOP By: Semyatu T.W. Stewart invented the mop. It is useful because we can clean the floor if we spill something. REFRIGERATOR By: Nakijah J. Standard invented the refrigerator. It is useful because we can put cold food in it. FIRE EXTINGUISHER By: Ahmar Tom J. Marshal invented the fire extinguisher. It is useful because it puts fire out. HORSE SHOE By: Abigail Oscar E. Brown invented the horse shoe. It is useful because it protects the hoofs off horses. People use horse shoes in the South. HORSE RIDING SADDLE By: Mariah Wm. D. Davis invented the horse riding saddle. It is useful because it is comfortable when you ride a horse. CELLUAR PHONE By: Nylen Henry Sampson invented the celluar phone. This is useful because you can call your friends and tell them how you feel. ELEVATOR By: EhAhah Alexander Miles invented the elevator. It is useful because it helps you get where you are going. LANTERN By: Genesis Micheal Harney invented the lantern. It is useful because it is good for camping and light. PENCIL SHARPENER By: Kurshawn John L. Love invented the pencil sharpener. It is useful because if our pencil brakes then you can sharpen it. GUITAR By: Prince Robert Flemming Jr. Invented the guitar. It is useful because people can play it. TRAFFIC SIGNAL By: Kathey Garrett Morgan invented the traffic signal. It is useful because it help know which way to go. IRONING BOARD By: Jesse Sarah Boone invented the ironing board. It is useful because it helps to get the wrinkles out of our clothes. DISPOSABLE SYRINGE By: Rosdajiah Phil Brookes invented the disposable syringe. It is useful because it can give us medicine. DOORKNOB By: Luis O. Dorsey invented the doorknob. It is useful because if you don’t have doorknob then you can’t open the door. GOLF TEE By: Edward George F. Grant invented the golf tee. It is useful because it helps golfers hit the ball. AFRICAN AMERICAN FLAG Red-color= bloodshed Black= people. Green= land THANK YOU!
