Assembly and Operating Manual MEGA BOUNCE 140 14ft THE AERO BOUNCE 120 12ft THE SUPA BOUNCE 100 10ft THE THE BOUNCE 80 8ft VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION Please read before assembling and using this product Airmaster advises that the use of this trampoline and or any accessory product is considered a high intensity activity which could result in injury. By purchasing this product and or using it you are agreeing to take full responsibility for your own actions and those who use it. Please insure that the trampoline is assembled correctly, located and secured as prescribed in this manual. It is also most important that on-going maintenance is undertaken as required. 1. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS 1.1 PURPOSE ► The product is intended for home/domestic use only and is not suitable for professional uses. ►Please refer to the maximum weight as per specification sheet. Overloading the trampoline above the recommended user weight will cause damage which is not covered by the warranty 1.2 DANGER FOR CHILDREN ► Please ensure that children are supervised when using the trampoline. It is also important to make sure that all appropriate safety precautions are undertaken. Also please be aware that the packaging material is not suitable for use by children. There is a danger of suffocation. ► Trampolines over 51cm (20inches) in height are not recommended for children under 6 years of age. 1.3 ATTENTION – PRODUCT DAMAGES ► Do not alter the product. Only use original spare parts and repairs should only be carried out by appropriately qualified persons. Improper repairs can compromise the safety of your trampoline. Use this product only as described in this manual. ► Protect the product against the effects of high humidity and high temperatures. 1.4 ADVICE FOR THE ASSEMBLY ►The assembly of the product must be done carefully by at least two able-bodied adults. If in any doubt, ask a technically qualified person. ► Before commencing assembly of the trampoline, please read thoroughly the instructions contained in this manual – it will save time and ensure that the completed trampoline complies with the design specifications. ► Remove all packaging materials and lay out all parts on a suitable surface. This will provide a good overview of all components and simplify the assembly process. ► Cross check the unpacked parts with the parts list to ensure that there are no missing components. ► Beware that when using tools or doing technical work, there is always a risk of injury so please make sure that appropriate safety precautions are undertaken and assembly is undertaken in a careful and thoughtful manner. As an example do not let tools lie around the workspace that could be tripped over or stood on. ► Dispose or place in storage packaging material in a way that cannot cause any danger. As noted above Foils and plastic bags can be dangerous for children (danger of suffocation)! ► During the assembly process comply with all instructions in the Installation Guide making sure that no short cuts are taken. Once assembled double check that all screws, bolts, washers and nuts are correctly installed and tightened and that all joints are correctly fixed. The correct placement of washers is particularly important. Without them, nuts and bolts can easy unwind when the trampoline is in use. ► A clearance space of at least 7.3m above the trampoline is most important In particular careful attention must be paid to keeping the trampoline well clear of electrical and telephone cables as well as trees and other overhead obstacles. ► Once assembled the trampoline must be checked that it is properly set up. In addition to keeping clear of overhead obstacles it must be placed on a flat and firm footing and it is preferable that the legs are anchored to the ground to prevent ground movement or lifting in windy conditions. ► It is also essential that the area surrounding the trampoline has good impact absorbing capacities. Either a recommended play ground matting, grass, sand or a suitable alternative material. Under no circumstances should the trampoline be located in an area where the immediate surrounding area is an unprotected hard surface. ► Do not attempt to set up the trampoline in rainy, windy or stormy conditions, especially during thunderstorms. ► The metal frame of the trampoline will conduct electricity. Please ensure that it does not come into contact or placed in close contact with any form of electrical circuit during construction. The same applies once it is in use. ► Make sure that the trampoline is located well clear of other objects and is kept in a safe and secure environment. ► When assembling or disassembling, please use gloves to protect your hands. WARNING - When IN USE 1. 2. Please ensure that the safety enclosure net zipper is 100% closed and that all three entrance hooks are connected before jumping. Users must not intentionally jump into the safety net; it is designed to stop persons from falling from the trampoline but not for intentional rebounding. Intentional jumping into the safety net may cause the trampoline to top over, or could cause damage to the net. Abuse of the safety net is considered negligent use which is not covered by the warranty, please refer to the disclaimer. 2. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR TRAMPOLINES ► All users of the trampoline must be supervised regardless of age and experience. ► The safety instructions of the trampoline should always be adhered to. ► Somersaults must be avoided. Incorrect landings on the trampoline can lead to injuries, in particular to the back, neck or head. Injuries could include paralysis. ► Only one person should use the trampoline at a time. Multiple users on the trampoline will increase the risk of collision and can also result in damage to the net and clips. ► The trampoline must be examined for damaged and general wear on a regular basis – preferably before each time it is used. In particular check for rips in the nets and broken clips which can be caused by exceeding user conditions or from normal wear and tear. Also check the nuts and bolts in the frame as these can loosen over time and tighten as necessary. Damaged or defective parts should be replaced immediately and trampoline must not be used until such repairs are completed. ► Neither clothing with hooks or jewellery should be worn by trampoline users in order to avoid such items getting caught in the net or clips. ► As previously stated in the set up instructions the trampoline must only be set up on flat ground and stable surface. Also avoid any slippery surfaces. ► Strong wind can blow the trampoline away. If such winds are forecasted the trampoline must be moved to a protected place, or alternatively dismantled. If this is not practicable or possible fasten the trampoline securely to the ground with ropes and anchors. ► Try to avoid the moving the trampoline once assembled as it can bend when moved. Should it be necessary to shift the trampoline, please consider the following: at least four people must be evenly spaced around the frame to lift it off the ground. The trampoline must be carried horizontally. If the frame is bent during this process it must be corrected before reuse. ► If used at night ensure that the trampoline is located in a well-lit area. ► Trampoline are jumping devices, enabling the user to jump to unusual heights as well as make a wide range of body movements. Hitting the frame, cover pads or incorrect landing on the trampoline can lead to injury. Users must therefore limit their jumping movements to their physical capacity to control such movements. ► Operators and Supervisors of the trampoline must make themselves familiar with the user manual. This manual contains assembly instructions, selected precautionary measures as well as recommendations for servicing and maintenance of the trampoline. ► It is also the responsibility of the trampoline owners to ensure that all users are correctly supervised and informed and also ensure that there is sufficient space around the trampoline for safe usage. ► Users and observers must keep clear of the trampolines moving parts when it is in use – in particular the springs. ► Do not allow anyone to be under the trampoline when it is in use. The jumping mat is flexible and the downwards force created when jumped on could cause serious injury to both the person under the mat and the person using the trampoline. In like manner do not allow any objects to be placed under the trampoline when it is in use. ► Implement all safety rules and be familiar with the information in the user manual. ► The trampoline must only be used, if the jumping mat is clean and dry. Surfaces can become slippery in wet or icy conditions. Also lips, tongues and wet skin can stick to metalwork in very cold weather. Therefore, in these conditions children must not be allowed to use the trampoline. ► Worn or damaged jumping mats should replaced immediately. ► Do not allow use the of the trampoline by persons under influence of alcohol or drugs. ► Ensure all users of the trampoline are competent in the fundamental jumping techniques before trying more difficult jumps. For more information refer to the section titled Fundamental Bounce Techniques. ► Climb on the trampoline. Do not jump on it directly. Do not use the trampoline as a jumping platform on to other surface as this could result in serious injury. ► For further information or exercise options refer to a trained trampoline professional or creditable publications. 3. MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS ► As previously stated in the safety section it is vital that the trampoline is checked regularly, at least once a month and more often if under sustained use. Special attention should be paid to the nut, bolt and washer assemblies making sure that they are firmly tight. The net and jumping mat for any rips and chaffing, the fibreglass poles for breakages and or disconnections and the springs for breakages. All faulty components must be replaced before the trampoline is fit for use again. Also any sharp edges (e.g. bolt ends) should be filed down if found to be protruding. ► AIRMASTER Trampoline frames are manufactured from zinc-coated galvanised tubing. If surface rust appears it should be removed with either a wire brush or coarse sandpaper, and the area treated with a cold galvanising paint. These paints are available from most hardware or DIY stores. 4. RAIL. 3 Connect two TOP RAILS together. 4 Continue to assemble all the TOP RAILS into pairs as shown. • Note: Please refer to the parts list for quantity of parts you are assembling as they can vary from model to model. 5 6 Locate the parts as shown. 7 Select a two LEGS and a FOOT. 8 1 Connect the two LEGS to each FOOT as shown. Assemble the remaining LEGS with each FOOT. • Note: Please refer parts list for quantity of legs or rails you are assembling, as they varies from different models. 9 10 Take an Assembled FOOT and LEG assembly. 11 12 And connect with a pair of connected TOP RAILS. • Note: Please refer parts list for quantity of legs or rails you are assembling, as they varies from different models. 13 14 Take two assembled TOP RAIL/FOOT and LEG units, turnover and connect together. The connected pairs should stand up unsupported. 15 Continue connecting the rest of the sections together. 16 2 17 18 When joining the final two sections to form a circle, it helps to anchor your leg against the trampoline LEG vertically below the connection. This will provide extra leverage, making it easier to line up and slide the two joints together. • Note: Some of the top rail connections will not be completely connected. This is perfectly fine because once the springs are added this will pull the frame securely together. 19 The completed frame should appear as shown above. 20 21 Lay out the JUMPING MAT on the ground inside the completed frame. Once done attach a spring to any D-Ring located on the JUMPING MAT. You will notice that the SPRING has a different length hook at each end. It is most important that shorter hook is attached to the JUMPING MAT D-Ring. Also make sure that the D-Ring is neatly positioned with its long edge located inside the D-Ring fabric sleeve as shown. 3 • Note: The top of the JUMPING MAT has smooth edges. This side should be facing upwards. 22 23 After you have connected the first SPRING to the FRAME walk around to the opposite side of the frame matching each D-RING to a matching slot as you walk (This will ensure that you will not have to disconnect and refit SPRINGS later on in this exercise). Once at the other side of the FRAME attach another HOOK between the MAT and FRAME. At this point you will note that increasing pulling effort needs to be applied to fit each spring. As required use the Spring Attachment Hook to accomplish this task. 24 25 Next connect MAT to the FRAME at the quarter sections (the points half way between the opposite ends). Again make sure that you match each D-RING with each slot between each SPRING that has been fitted. Finally fit another set of springs at even points between each quarter section matching each SPRING to its corresponding slot. • Note: Do not fit the rest of the springs at this stage. 4 26 27 Select one each of a SAFETY NET LOWER AND UPPER POLE and fit together. Note the 2 poles can easily be distinguished as the Upper Pole has a plastic cap on the top. The Lower Pole does not have this plastic cap. 28 29 Continue to connect all top and bottom poles together. • Note: It is much easier to do the following steps in the cool out of the sun. 30 31 Take a SLEEVE. Slide the open end over the top of the curved pole (plastic cap) pull all the way down to the bottom making sure that it is not bunched at the top. 32 33 5 Repeat this for each safety net pole. 34 35 Take one assembled SAFETY POLE and attach to the frame with the NUTS and BOLTS supplied. In the process place the PLASTIC SPACERS as supplied between the SAFTEY POLE and the FRAME. 36 Connect the now completed curved safety net poles to the trampoline as shown above. 37 Attach the basketball hoop frame onto the thickest biggest netting pole, as above shown. • Note: SAFTEY PAD – VERY IMPORTANT – MISS THIS STEP and YOU WILL HAVE TO UNDERTAKE SOME DISMANTLING LATER. Place the SAFTEY PAD over the SPRINGS already fitted. NETTING 38 39 6 Assemble the two FIBREGLASS RODS using the galvanised connectors as shown above. In the process be careful not to over stretch the elastic cord linking the rods resulting in a breakage. Lay the SAFETY NET stretched out flat on the ground. 40 Slide one of the assembled FIBREGLASS RODS halfway around the SAFETY NET hem -until each end is just showing. Repeat the same exercise with the second rod however in this instance ensure that the end being pushed through the hem is the opposite end of the rod already pushed through on the other side of the hem (ie if the metal connecter is at the leading end of the first rod pushed through then ensure that the leading end of the second rod is the straight fibreglass end- this will enable the two rods to be connected into a full circle) 42 43 41 Have one person stand on two of the unconnected rod ends then take the other two ends and bend them forward toward the centre of the net until they are at a matching angle and are able to be connected. To make the second connection and therefore form a loop have one person stand on the join made in the previous step and then push the two remaining unconnected rods towards the centre of the ring until they are in line with each other and slide together. Slide the net around the FIBREGLASS loop by a few centimetres until the metal connectors are hidden inside the hem. 44 7 Place the net with the FIBREGLASS Loop installed flat on top of the trampoline. Using a safety ladder, securely positioned to the ground, lift the net up at the point of the relevant Net Pocket and clip the FIBREGLASS Loop into one of the moulded groves located in the cap on one of the SAFETY NET POLES. Repeat the same exercise until the NET is fully erected. • VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: Make sure when attaching the net pockets onto the safety net pole, that the SAFTEY NET is not twisted by attaching the pocket to the SAFETY NET POLE either to the left or right of the one it should be on. As a point of reference the net Opening Zip should be running perfectly straight up and down (vertically). ATTACHING THE NET • Note: make sure you start at the zip. 45 46 Starting at the SAFTEY NET Opening Zip, attach the net to the JUMPING MAT. The zip should be hanging mid way between two safety poles. Take a hold of the Zip and following it down, select the metal D-RING attached to the JUMPING MAT that is positioned to the bottom right of the Zip. Slide the D-RING through the slit located in the seam of the SAFETY NET. 47 48 Repeat the same exercise for the left side of the Zip. Attach SPRINGS to the two D-RINGS and connect to the frame. Make sure that the shorter spring hook is attached to the D-RING and the longer hook end into the slot in the frame. If required use the SPRING ATTACHMENT HOOK to assist in this task. 49 50 8 TOP VIEW OF THE TRAMPOLINE 1 7 3 6 4 JUMP MAT 8 5 2 (ZIP ENTRANCE) • Note: The above illustration is a top view of the trampoline, which illustrates the positions and order of attaching the bottom seam of the SAFETY NET to the JUMPING MAT. 51 52 Move to the back of the trampoline to position 2, (opposite side to the Zip entrance). Slide a metal D-RING through the slit in the SAFETY NET seam and attach a SPRING connecting the JUMPING MAT and FRAME in the same manner as before. 53 54 9 Move to positions 3 and 4 repeating the process. TOP VIEW OF THE TRAMPOLINE 1 7 3 6 4 JUMP MAT 8 5 2 55 Feed Dring through net and attach spring. 56 Now repeat the same exercise for positions 5 through 8. Once completed attach the remainder of the SPRINGS in the manner already described and use the SPRING ATTACHMENT TOOL as required. As a reminder make sure the each D-RING is correctly positioned with the long edge fitted flush in its respective fabric sleeve. Your net should now be evenly attached to the JUMPING MAT as shown above. 10 BASKEETBALL HOOP SET ASSSEMBLLY 1.
