WHAT’S NEW?
NEW FORMAT!!!! By popular demand we are introducing a new format
that will provide participants with experiences to enhance their
substantive practice skills. Assigned groups divided into husband and
wife teams will use the conference to hone their skills using prepared
case studies, engage experts to assist with settlement issues, meet with
mediators and judges available for decisions, and be guided by facilitators
that will periodically throw in CHANCE cards to change facts of the case. Working within
your team you will have an opportunity to share ideas and methodologies to improve your
practice and get advice from the experts.
NEW TIME!!!! Again by popular demand, we are starting earlier on Thursday, promptly
at 1:00, and eliminating a structured session on Sunday morning. You can enjoy your
Saturday evening when the Divorce Camp Players regale you with their hilarious "Games
People Play" followed by the usual socializing with other campers. Then on Sunday
morning relax and enjoy a leisurely breakfast and informal feedback session before you
make your drive home. Because of the nature of the game format, you won't want to be
late on Thursday; your team is counting on you. So be sure to allow time to arrive for
registration (open at 11:30) and pick up a box lunch to enjoy before we start the game.
NEW REGISTRATION DEADLINE!!!! Because we need to assemble the teams well in
advance of Divorce Camp 2006 we ask that you register no later than September 8. As
added incentive we are offering a reduced rate for early registration. Register by August
25 for $425. Between August 26 and September 8 registration is $475. AND you can
now register on line with a credit card at www.aamlmn.com. Simply click on Divorce
Camp 2006 and look for the registration form. It's easy to register early!

The American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers Minnesota Chapter
Mission: To create an intellectual, professional and collegial environment which will prepare
and inspire members to improve family law.
Members of the Academy are recognized for their innovation, compassion and competence in
the practice of family law. To be considered for membership, a lawyer must have a highly
developed matrimonial law practice. In addition to undergoing a comprehensive application
review, applicants must pass a national test pertaining to all aspects of family law, including
taxation, federally enacted statutes and international conventions.
Each year the members of our chapter elect officers to oversee the organization’s operations.
Members are appointed to various committees that are formed to accomplish the chapter’s
commitment to improve the practice of family law and enhance the welfare of the family. We
encourage all qualified practitioners to apply for membership.
