Hello!
As 2016 comes to a close, it’s a perfect time to reflect on the year’s
accomplishments and to look ahead to an exciting new year. During Thanksgiving
and throughout the year, we are thankful for our freedom and the sacrifices made
by our Service Members and families to protect that freedom. Fleet and Family
Support Center stands ready to serve you with a wide range of programs and
resources to help you remain ready and resilient .
In addition to already scheduled workshops, we offer many workshops by special
request of commands or family groups. If you are interested in such alternatives,
call 866-923-6478.
Silence Hides Violence
October is Domestic Violence Awareness month, and we remind everyone: Silence
hides violence. Speak up…let your voice be heard! Here are some signs of serious
domestic problems. Specifically:
•
•
•
•
Has your partner or family member ever hit, kicked, pushed, strangled or
intimidated you? Threatened you with a knife or a gun?
Has your partner or family member isolated you from family, friends or
financial support? Taken away your phone?
Are you afraid of your partner or family member?
Has your child ever been hurt during a conflict at your home or injured trying
to protect you?
We all have a role in reporting violence. If you are in immediate danger or if you see
someone being abused, call 911. If you or someone you care about are victims of
domestic violence, call the DV Hotline at 1-800-799-7233 or call FFSC at
619-556-8809.
Retired Military Personnel Seminar & Resource Fair
The Retired Military Personnel Seminar and Resource Fair will be held on October
29, 8 am-1:30 pm at Naval Base San Diego, Anchors Catering & Conference Center.
The fair features a wide range of resources for retirees and is a great way to get
updates on benefits and programs affecting veterans.
As always we take great pride in providing the highest quality support to Service
Members, retirees, reservists, and their families. We hope your interaction with
FFSC exceeds your expectations and we welcome your feedback.
Thank you for all that you do!
