JAIPUR LITERATURE FESTIVAL
The second annual Jaipur Literature Festival at Boulder – JLF @ Boulder – takes place
September 23–25, 2016 at the Main Boulder Public Library.
Free and accessible to everyone, the Jaipur Literature Festival invites us to join together
in examining the human experience through the reflections and imaginations of
distinguished contemporary authors from around the world.
Themes for JLF at Boulder 2016 include: immigration, politics, and conflict environmental
concerns such as fracking, climate change, the declining bee population, famine, and
water conservation, poetic imagination, and contemporary Native American life.
Special guest speakers in Boulder this year include Viet Thanh Nguyen, the VietnameseAmerican 2016 Pulitzer Prize winning author of The Sympathizer, and David Goulson,
author of the bestselling A Sting in the Tale and A Buzz in the Meadow and the founder
of England’s Bumblebee Conservation Trust.

Sphere Ensemble is Colorado’s exciting new chamber
ensemble, freeing itself from the confines of the baton and

Celebration! A History of the Visual Arts in Boulder
(HOVAB) is honoring some of the city’s artists who, across
generations, have been innovators in the many facets
of “book arts,” from artist’s books to comic books, from
children’s book illustrators to small presses.
October 16–December 15, Canyon Gallery
Celebration! A History of the Visual Arts in Boulder (HOVAB),
curated by the late Karen Ripley Dugan, is one of 18
exhibitions city-wide (and in Longmont) that embrace the
city’s rich and vibrant visual arts scene from the late 19th
century to the present, in order to create a living archive and
lasting legacy for future generations to come.
