With an address directly in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles’ Broadway revitaliza`on plan and its iconic Art Deco surroundings (The Bradbury, Million Dollar Theater and Grand Central Market ), we feel confident in our ability to evolve the concept of a gay/alterna`ve bar beyond superficial stereotypes offered at most. Keeping a strong sense of a the fast-‐growing and widely broadening DTLA community, we hope to draw equally from the young and affluent residents of the area as well as the consistent and steady base of clients and supporters we have gained during our residency in Silver Lake/East Hollywood. We plan to create two separate and dis`nct spaces within PRECINCT: At the front entrance, a smaller saloon/bar concept, styled on a Prohibi`on-‐era police sta`on (fiing with the themes and guidelines of the reinvigorated Broadway District) complete with an open-‐air pa`o, in`mate sea`ng and a period-‐influenced seing. Further inside, a more relaxed, open event space. With a focus on building the gay and art community of Los Angeles. FLOOR PLAN About us: BLT Nightlife, LLC BLT Nightlife is the collabora`on of Brian McIn`re and Thor Stephens, who have been working together for 8 years in a successful partnership of promo`ng and producing nightlife events. * * * * * Thor Stephens has been working with bars and producing events for 20 years, star`ng in Seamle WA were he got his start in the local music scene booking, performing and producing events. As a performer and recording ar`st, he then went on to book na`onal tours which led to a move to Los Angeles. There he worked at many local venues, including Revolver, Mr. T’s Bowl and the roving monthly event Kiss or Kill. He also hosted a loV party series featuring local and visi`ng ar`sts. AVer leaving live music and mee`ng Brian McIn`re, they launched a series of monthly events at Faultline Bar. In under two years, they turned around the bar’s failing calendar, spiking amendance and sales, while expanding the club’s demographic from a shrinking over-‐40 crowd to a 25-‐to-‐45 mix that sparked a resurgence of the bar. Through this tenure (2007-‐2013) they built a strong and loyal following and substan`al partnerships with many of Los Angeles’ top promoters. They have also promoted events with LA/Long Beach venues Fubar, Akbar, Pistons and The Eagle. Thor Stephens also worked as a manager for Faultline for four years where his du`es ranged from back-‐office obliga`ons such as payroll, coun`ng money/loading banks and supervising inventory, as well as floor manager, bartender, promoter liaison and audio/video technical support for the venue. Thor Stephens also started and ran his own small record label from 1999-‐2002 and has also worked as a professional sound engineer for both live and studio ar`sts. * * * * * Brian McIn`re started DJing and bartending in college in Iowa in the mid-‐1980s. He then later con`nued DJing at various local nightclubs and fund-‐raising events while pursuing his MFA in Theater in Illinois. Post-‐gradua`on, he moved to Chicago where he was employed as a recrui`ng coordinator for an interna`onal consul`ng firm. During this `me, he co-‐founded and was Ar`s`c Director for a non-‐Equity theater company. He also con`nued to DJ and bartend at a handful of established Chicago bars.
