he Jukebox is one of the most recognized Beatles tribute bands in the world. With two titles as Best
Beatles Tribute Band at the Chicago Beatlefest in 2001 and 2002, this group of musicians have proven
that Puerto Rico is not only Salsa and Plena music.
Formed in the northern coastal town of Vega Alta nine years ago, Heriberto Palos (bass, keyboards and
vocals), Jacob Rodríguez (guitar, keyboards and vocals), Francisco Cairol (guitar and vocals ) y Juan Carlos del
Valle (drums and vocals) have successfully integrated two generations of Beatlefans. Their live shows stand out
for their faithful and exact rendering of The Beatles’ music. Their versatility is what sets them apart from other
Beatles groups. While others imitate the Liverpool accent and the mannerisms of The Beatles in a superficial and
stale way, The Jukebox recreate the spirit and the magic of The Beatles through the most important element: the
music. Heriberto Palos can switch from bass to piano to perform a classic like “Hey Jude”, while Jacob takes over
on bass and sing “Hello Goodbye” and you will swear its Paul McCartney. Francisco can play the unforgettable
George Harrison’s solos, but can also play John Lennon’s fiery rhythm guitar when needed. Juan Carlos, in the
other hand, can do the most raucous and frenzied Paul McCartney voice in songs like Helter Skelter and Long Tall
Sally, as well as the melancholic and unique voice of Ringo Starr. The Jukebox is not an imitation, it is a tribute.
When you think about The Beatles, it’s impossible not to think about The Jukebox.
