Shows Galore - March 2-6
Shows Galore is the Sabes JCC School’s Out offering for March Break 2008 for children in grades K-6.
Shows Galore opens every day at 7:30 a.m. with programming beginning at 9 a.m. School’s Out will close every
night at 6:00 p.m. except Friday when it closes at 5:30 p.m. Each day children will experience a different type of
show including a magician, play, and more! Please remember to bring a dairy lunch, swimsuit & towel, gym
shoes, and weather appropriate clothing. Children should be dropped off and picked up in M54, the HaBonim
room.
Monday, March 2 - Movie at the JCC
Start the week of at the JCC where we will watch a movie on our own big screen in the theater. We will make our own
special theater snack to enjoy during the movie’s intermission.
Tuesday, March 3 - Magician
Abracadabra! Children will surely be entertained as they watch magician Patrick Umphrey perform a variety of tricks and
illusions. Participants won’t believe their eyes!
Wednesday, March 4 - Science Museum Omnitheater Experience
Join School’s Out as we head to the Science Museum to check out their new Omnitheater Show: Grand Canyon
Adventure: River at Risk. Set on the Colorado River, this film follows an exhilarating river journey that includes
flash floods, gila monsters, capsizing rafts, and breathtaking leaps off cliffs.
Thursday, March 5 - Disney on Ice
Join the celebration as 65 of Disney's unforgettable characters from 18 beloved stories come to life in Disney On Ice
celebrates 100 Years of Magic! You'll be captivated by the one and only Mickey Mouse, the irresistible Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Donald
Duck, Jiminy Cricket, Pinocchio and all the Disney Princesses. Be thrilled by exciting moments from The Lion King; Mulan; and Disney/
Pixar's Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, and Toy Story films; in a skating spectacular filled with magical Disney moments you'll remember forever as Disney On Ice celebrates 100 Years of Magic!
Friday, March 6 - Story Teller
Shows Galore will close with a visit from a story teller. She will entertain with a story including illusions, balloons, humor and
audience participation. Participants will even get the chance to make a balloon animal dog at the end of the show.
Outdoor Explorers - March 24 and 25
Outdoor Explorers is the School’s Out offering for two half-days in March. Children will work with Three Rivers
Park District Specialists on a variety of outdoor skills and activities each day followed by the option of free time in
the gym or pool. Please remember to bring a dairy lunch, swimsuit & towel gym shoes, and weather appropriate
clothing.
Tuesday, March 24
• Kindergarten - 3rd Graders will go on a nature hike and learn about animal tracks and camouflage.
Participants will learn about animals in Minnesota; what makes them unique and how coloring affects what
they do.
• 4th - 6th Graders will take on a compass course challenge. Participants will learn how to take bearings with a
compass, how to pace out and will have to complete a course using their new skills.
Wednesday, March 25
• Kindergarten - 3rd Graders will spend the afternoon camping at the JCC. Participants will play nature
games, learn how to use their senses during hiking, and even learn a few bandana tricks.
• 4th - 6th Graders will test their accuracy as they learn how to use a bow and arrow for an afternoon of
archery.

parent signature and payment received in full.
Registration Deadline: February 16
Any registrations received after above registration
deadline are subject to availability and $10 late fee. Once
registration and payment in full is received, we will send
you a confirmation letter with dates, emergency contact
information sheet, as well as necessary waivers to be
signed and any other pertinent information.
There are no refunds for School’s Out cancellations.
