• DON’T MISS THE BRIDGE! One of our most unique attractions –
the drawbridge – raises on the hour and half hour from June
through August. The clanging bells signal its impending opening
so hustle down to see the parade of gleaming boats entering and
exiting Round Lake. And don’t forget to wave!

• CROSSING BRIDGE STREET Bridge Street can get rather busy
during the summer months, thus we suggest you utilize our
marked crosswalks and Under-Bridge Walkway. You can cross
at your leisure and the Under-Bridge Walkway also provides a
unique perspective of our drawbridge.

• EARL YOUNG HOMES: CHARLEVOIX’S MUSHROOM MANORS
Earl Young (1889-1975) was the architect and builder of
Charlevoix’s famous “mushroom houses.” Young began
construction of several of these unique stone houses in the late
1930’s and ultimately built over two dozen structures, a number
of which are located a short walk from Downtown.
• A GREEN DOWNTOWN IS A CLEAN DOWNTOWN Join us in our
efforts to keep East Park litter-free and help the environment at
the same time! Downtown Charlevoix will be installing several
recycling receptacles throughout our recently renovated park.
Consult the map for receptacle locations and please do your part
to make sure Charlevoix stays beautiful!
