Look for several new artists who excel in the craft of engraved stones, handblown glass, metal yard art and an array of offerings that cannot be found in a retail store. Wisconsin Indian Head Country, which has been organizing arts and crafts fairs for more than 30 years, is a non-profit tourism agency that has served a 22-county territory in Northwestern Wisconsin since 1937. If you are interested in participating in the Festival in the Pines Arts & Crafts Fair, mail photos with a brief resume to: Wisconsin Indian Head, P.O. Box 628, Chetek, WI 54728. Or feel free to call 1-800-826-6966. A list of this year’s arts & crafts exhibitors will be available at the festival information booth near the main entrance. As a representative for the northwest side of the state, Wisconsin Indian Head Country has established a 12-month program to keep tourist traffic at an all-time high, as well as increase the competition between recreational regions throughout the country who bid aggressively for tourism dollars. WI Indian Head attends travel and sports shows throughout the Midwest and operates a year-round information center and maintains an Internet site at: www. wisconsinindianhead.org. The group also hosts the annual Governor’s Fishing Opener and organizes an Annual Fun Day Bus Trip at the State Capitol in Madison. The value of keeping the Indian Head vacation area before the public is not to be underestimated. To increase its advertising budget so that it can continually publicize resorts, area attractions and recreational facilities, the orginization needs the continued support of every business owner and resort operator to help the region share in the more than $13 billion in tourist dollars spent in Wisconsin each year. There will be 12 clues on the card that attendees can take to various arts/crafts booths, food vendors and/or other attractions at the festival. Once the cards are completed, the cards can be dropped off back at the Visitor Information Booth and qualify for $200 in Walmart gift cards. There will be five winners. Showcase Stage Fresh Horses, a high-energy show that features songs of Garth Brooks is the ultimate tribute to the country singer. Names for the 1995 album, the band has received excellent reviews and developed a huge fan following. The lead singer of Fresh Horses Garth Brooks Tribute is Les Smith, who looks and sounds so much like Garth that many who have seen the show forget they are watching a tribute band. Les says he has heard about how much he looks like Garth for years, especially after he cut his hair and put on a cowboy hat when he began playing country music nearly 14 years ago. He began performing Garth’s songs casually with five other band members until he was approached by an agent who encouraged him to improve the act and take it on the road as a tribute to Garth. They have performed throughout the United States and Canada ever since. Les says their particular fan base is smaller communities as they seem to have a “die-hard love of country music and Garth Brooks”. Fans can also expect to hear not only Garth’s most popular songs, but some that may be less recognizable as well. Members of the band include: Les Smith as Garth Brooks; Glen Afiedt, guitar; Doug Broadfoot, keyboards; Shan Bricker, drums; and Larry Afieldt, bass guitar NO APPOINTMENT NECESSARY See us for the most convenient, fastest, oil change available. • Oil & Filter Changes $5 OFF • Multiple-Point Vehicle Checkup • Tire Rotation with Brake Inspection OIL CHANGE Coupon Code FESTOIL • Safety Inspection • Air & Cabin Filter Replacement • Wiper Blade Replacement FREE • Headlamp & Bulb Replacement VEHICLE SAFETY INSPECTION • Battery Test Coupon Code FESTISP All Makes & Models, Foreign & Domestic 3100 - 3214 Mall Dr. | Across from Festival Foods | 715-833-7777 | EauClaireAutoGroup.com STATE-OF-THE-ART All New Facility & Equipment Welcome WelcometotoEau EauClaire!
