FROM
THE DESK OF
OUR CEO
Mr Loi Hai Poh
Chief Executive Officer
Informatics Academy Pte Ltd (IAPL), a wholly owned
subsidiary of Informatics Education Ltd, is positioned as
a flagship showcase for our school operations business.
Based in Singapore, the school operates as a city campus in
the bustling downtown Middle Road area. Our city campus
provides a fuller experience of Singapore’s metropolitan
lifestyle. Students can gather formally or informally to
discuss what is going on and course content, and share
their ideas and to effectively build a learning community
together. Besides academic fulfillment, Informatics also
organises a series of social and recreational activities
throughout the year, aimed at enhancing the students’
experience and integration within the university community.
This is aligned with one of our core values – Student Centric:
We focus in understanding our students and putting them
first in everything we do.
We understand the ever-changing demand of the private
education industry and the importance of life-long
learning. Informatics presents diverse learning modes to
accommodate the lifestyle and needs. Other than traditional
classroom learning, we also offer blended-learning in which
all classrooms and computer labs are fitted with smart
boards to enhance learning experience. The streaming
support for selected lectures allows students to learn at their
own pace and time. To provide a wider range of courses,
we partner with foreign universities and institutions which
include Oxford Brookes University, University of Portsmouth,
University of Central Lancashire, and University of Wales.
Through our commitment to excellence in education,
Informatics is driven to continuously enhance the quality of
our programs and the learning experience of our students.
At Informatics Academy, we are focused on our mission to
educate and train global citizens to make them effective and
competent contributors to society.
As the Chief Executive Officer of Informatics Education Ltd,

Overview
Module Titles
This programme combines some of the overview
the computer science with modules focus on the
development of information systems. An information
system is a set of people, data, procedures, hardware
and software that work together to achieve the
common goal of information management. Information
management includes the tasks of gathering data;
processing the data into reliable, accurate, and usable
information; and distributing the information in a timely
fashion for use in decision making, problem solving, and
control. Information systems exist within organisations
in commerce, industry and the public sector. Therefore,
while it is primarily a computer science discipline, it
involves an understanding of organisations, management,
information and the information needs of organisations.

Module Titles
This course combines some of the generality of the
computer science course but with modules concerned with
software engineering. Software engineering deals with the
transformation of information into more complex forms.
It does so through software systems – its final products
consist of programmes and procedure implemented on a
computer system.
Advanced Object-Oriented Programming
The applications of software are extremely diverse ranging
from simple processing of well-defined data to complex
computations and control of industrial production lines.
Software engineering is thus a constructive approach
to the development of software – an approach that is
independent of the application of the software product
itself.

Informatics Academy has in place a Fee Protection Scheme (FPS) to protect the paid fees of both local and international
students. The FPS serves to protect the student’s fees in the event that Informatics Academy is unable to continue
operations due to insolvency, and/or regulatory closure. In addition, the FPS protects the students if the Informatics
Academy fails to pay penalties or return fees to the student arising from judgments made against it by the Singapore
courts.
The Fee Protection Scheme (FPS) is applicable to ALL students, local and international (regardless of nationality and the
type of passes, i.e. dependent’s pass, student’s pass, work permit etc). Informatics Academy has appointed Lonpac
Insurance Bhd as our FPS insurance provider.
The insurance coverage will be for the entire course fee and any course fees arising from an extension of the study period
longer than the initially planned study period (if applicable). Upon payment of course fee, the student will receive an FPS

OUR STUDENTS
TESTIMONIAL
“Singapore is a garden city, with a good environment. The
school has a good teaching standard, where there is strict
control and a low dropout rate. Thus, it is a good place
for study. I chose Informatics because of the branding,
university ranking and recognized certification. Informatics
in Singapore has a good reputation and feedback, and many
students will choose to study here. The course helps me
in being able to apply myself better in the future, being
better at hotel management and giving better service
to customers. My favourite study area is the library and
computer lab which I can use to search for information to
aid in my studying. Overall, I think the school is really good
including the teachers, the environment; all of it is ok.”
“Singapore is a multi-language and multi-cultural country, which
makes it easier to be part of the society. I chose Informatics
because of their wide range of courses. And I chose to study
Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Networking Computing (Top Up)
because networking and network security may become the major
issue in the IT world in the future.”
