PEP Portable Power Entry and Export Panels
10KW AC Distribution Powered by Shore (Community) and Onboard Inverter with Battery
Charger and Transfer Switch
PART - 7200-A-126
The API Technologies Tactical PEP Portable Power Entry and Export Panel with
Transfer Switch is a 10KW AC Power Panel designed to support expeditionary “On the
Move” and “At the Halt” continuous power needs of the soldiers in the field. Designed
to be integrated in vehicles, shelters or mission cases, the PEP will work in conjunction
with a variety of power sources and has been tested for environmental durability;
meeting the Military desired wide operating temperatures from -46°C to 60°C and
MIL-STD-810.
While in the vehicle, a 3 Phase 208 VAC Inverter plugged into the AUXILIARY input
power connector enables the system to support a complete mission package
containing SIPRNET and NIPRNET suites to operate while “On the Go”. While
stationary, the PEP can be transferred quickly to a generator or community power
by connecting to the second MAIN input connector. The system can quickly discern
that a primary power source has been made available. When confirmed to be a good
source, the transfer switch in the power panel sends a signal to disconnect from the
Inverter and immediately connect to the generator or community power. This transfer
takes place in less than 17mSec. The PEP can be used in a fielded state not mounted
to a vehicle and operate effectively in any 3 phase power environment.
This Power Panel features 5 AC outlets with circuit breakers protecting the panel
and its associated loads. To provide flexibility while embedded in the vehicle or
mission case a Monitoring system complete with LAN access for Telnet and SNMP
communication has been provided for easy user visibility.

The API Technologies DC SMARTStart® power distribution unit (PDU) with circuit
protection reliably cycles -48 VDC or +24/+28 VDC input power to devices with
DC power supplies. The DC Switched PDU uses specialized electronic switchable
solid state breakers to provide a true remote power cycling capability. To minimize
downtime, the breaker auto reset function can be activated. Then the on-board
SMARTStart® computer will pole the tripped channel position to determine whether
there is a fault, such as a short circuit. If this condition is determined to be non
catastrophic, the breaker is reset. The unit also features integral circuitry to provide
LVD and OVD protection automatically.
Using a visual basic interface, an operator can power cycle all 12 solid state breakers
as well as the 2 Remote Operated Circuit Breakers (ROCB) mains breakers. (Refer to the
Solid State Breaker Ratings table for respective trip currents.) Operators can program
the power up/down sequence and power up/down delays for each channel, along
with the low voltage disconnect (LVD) and over voltage disconnect (OVD) thresholds.
The PDU monitors line voltage, circuit breaker status and internal temperature
to provide the required power and circuit protection to connected equipment.
Operational control is performed either manually by front panel push buttons or
remotely through either an RS-232 serial console port 10/100 BASE-T or LAN TCP/IP
socket or telnet session.
There are numerous ROCB values available that provide primary current protection
to the PDU and down stream equipment powered by the PDU. The ROCBs are UL
listed primary circuit protection for the six outputs on side A and B. The high current,
direct feed version provides easy power cycling to -48 VDC powered routers/switches,
DSLAMS and other enterprise-related equipment via remote activated circuit
breakers rated up to 100 Amps.
The DC SMARTStart® and power monitoring set have been employed together or
individually in various applications in many industries.

Hawk-iTM
Video Aiming Device for Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Robots
Take the guesswork out of aiming your PAN™ disrupters. The Hawk-i™ Video Aiming
Device utilizes a camera and a rangefinder to automatically place crosshairs on your
monitor. As you approach a target the crosshairs shift based on your range to the
target to show operators the true point of impact for their shot. No calibration is
required and no adjustments are needed by the operator to account for the range
to the target. The system also displays range to target in the upper left corner of the
video image.
This camera sighting system is designed to work from a robot and will mount onto
the barrel of the disrupter. Versions are available for several popular EOD robots, and
the system can be configured for other robotic platforms, contact sales.
The camera projects crosshairs on the target and they are seen on the robot’s
monitor. This way you can mount the camera to one barrel and be able to see the
crosshairs for each barrel. The Hawk-i rangefinder will measure the distance from
the end of the barrel to the target that will display in the upper left corner of your
monitor. The rangefinder is good up to 48 inches.
The camera can project two sets of crosshairs if you have a dual mount. The crosshairs
are overlaid on the video image and then sent back to the robot control station
through the robot’s accessories port or weapons port. While approaching a target, the
crosshairs shift based on your range to the target to show operators the true point of
impact for their shot. It takes less than 5 minutes to integrate the aiming system to
the robotic platform.
Tilt (Angle of Fire): An additional capability to the Hawk-i video sighting system
that can be enabled as an option at the factory.¹ The Hawk-i can display the tilt
angle of the disrupter barrel. This is an additional piece of data often desired by EOD
technicians to ensure that the disrupter shot is taken at the ideal angle to produce
the optimal result. The tilt readout, when enabled, will be displayed underneath the
range reading on the video screen. The angle is given in degrees.
