Volume 2 Issue 1
Chrysler Town & Country minivan, the original
luxury minivan, is the best-selling minivan in the
United States for 2010. Building on that
momentum and not resting on its laurels,
Chrysler recently introduced a new Town &
Country for 2011. Virtually every customer
touch point was redesigned or re-engineered for
the 2011 model year. From suspension
redesign that delivers an exhilarating driving
performance, to a new powertrain with best-inclass horsepower, to the new, exquisitelycrafted interior cabin with clever features a
family appreciates, to the beautifully sleek new
exterior design, thoughtful innovation was
engineered in every aspect of the new Town &
Country.
“Chrysler Group 2010 sales of 1.1 million units
are consistent with our sales objectives that we
presented in our Nov. 4, 2009, five-year
business plan,” Fred Diaz, President and CEO
– Ram Truck Brand and Lead Executive for US
Sales, said.

Jay Rivchin of Dadeland Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram (Miami, FL) is a 2011 Urban
Wheels Awards Dealer of the Year Finalist.
Fifteen years ago, when Randi Payton began hosting the Urban
Wheel Awards in Detroit to promote inclusion of minorities in the
automotive industry, 500 people attended the event. Since then,
the event has outgrown a number of smaller venues in Detroit.
This year, the event, held at Motor City Casino on Sunday, drew
1,500 automotive executives, supplier executives, politicians and
members of the public at a black-tie optional gala that has
enough glam to rival the Detroit Auto Show’s Charity Preview
with well-known R&B artist Dwele scheduled to perform
following an awards ceremony.
Congratulations to Jay Rivchin and his team at Dadeland Dodge
Chrysler Jeep Ram for being nominated as the 2011 Urban
Wheels Awards Dealer of the Year Finalist!
Chrysler Group LLC was presented with the Urban Truck of the Year
Award for the all-new 2011 Jeep® Grand Cherokee at the 15th Annual
Urban Wheel Awards show held at the Motor City Casino’s Soundboard
Theater in Detroit on Sunday, Jan. 9, 2011.
“Jeep invented the premium sport-utility vehicle segment with the
introduction of the Grand Cherokee nearly two decades ago,” Mike
Manley, President and CEO – Jeep® Brand, said. “For 2011, we have
delivered a premium SUV that no one else can offer. We’re proud of the
vehicle and of all the employees who inject it with true American
craftsmanship when they build it here in Detroit.
“The all-new Jeep Grand Cherokee is truly a testament to the enduring
strength of the Jeep brand and to the inspiration and promise of Chrysler
Group going forward.”
The Urban Wheel Awards were created by the Emerging Diversity
Education Fund and Decisive Media to recognize excellence in the
automotive industry. Vehicles receiving awards were selected by a panel
of 15 auto journalists based on criteria which took into account styling and
practicability.
Delivering the stylistic distinction, technological innovation, premium E-segment sedan
features and quality at a legendary value, the all-new 2011 Chrysler 300 sedan made
its world premiere at the 2011 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS),
writing a new chapter in the brand’s legendary history, while setting a new course for
the American brand.
―The all-new 2011 Chrysler 300 is an icon of American ingenuity and symbolizes the
greatness Detroit-designed vehicles offer the streets, highways and boulevards of the
world,‖ said Olivier Francois, President and CEO — Chrysler Brand, Chrysler Group
LLC.
―From its premium materials, state-of-the-art connectivity features, new chassis
architecture and best-in-class power, the all-new Chrysler 300 embodies the brand’s
new attitude in every detail. And to ensure our all-new Chrysler flagship delivers more
than unmistakably bold and powerful American style to our customers, the Chrysler
300 team benchmarked the craftsmanship, technology and refinement of the
segment’s best sedans to deliver a new world-class quality and performance symbol
at an attainable price.‖
The all-new 2011 Chrysler 300 sedan embodies the essence of the new Chrysler
brand: Delivering passion for design, people and the environment through expressive
design, state-of-the-art connectivity and world-class levels of quality and efficiency.
The all-new 2011 Charger and North American Truck of the Year candidate Durango
vie for the limelight at the NAIAS. The Charger carries the brand's flag. It's being
positioned as a driver's car and an alternative to more expensive sport sedans.
Revealing the car at the L.A. Auto Show in November, Dodge CEO Ralph Gilles said
the Charger "is so full of visceral American design … with a superhero front end." He
said the car has "much more sex per pound."
A five-speed automatic transmission is in all three models, the SE, R/T and R/T AWD.
The suspension is retuned for better handling, and premium components are used.
The steering is quicker as well. The Charger is appointed with such amenities as tail
lights with 162 LEDs and wheels as large as 20 inches in diameter. Inside, front and
rear heated seats are available. The infotainment system is centered on an 8.6-inch
touch screen that operates basic audio and climate functions as well as navigation.
Real-time travel information is a highlight of the system.
Meanwhile, the Durango, now with unibody construction, is a departure from the past
two generations of the truck-based SUV. The 2011 model is lower, narrower and has
a shorter front overhang. It rides on wheels and tires up to 20 inches in diameter.
Seven passengers can sit in the three rows. "Honestly, I just think it looks good,"
Gilles said.
It will be available with the same powertrains as the Charger. Fuel economy for reardrive versions is 16 city and 23 highway mpg with the V-6 and 14 city and 20 highway
mpg with the V-8. All-wheel-drive versions realize 16 city and 22 highway mpg with
the V-6 and 13 city and 20 highway mpg with the V-8. Maximum towing capacity is
7,400 pounds. Four models are available: Express, Crew, R/T and Citadel. The
interior has high-quality materials at all touch points. Rear passengers can stay
entertained with Sirius Backseat TV.
"We're going to get some new customers with this vehicle," Gilles said.

Jeep® Compass, 70th Anniversary Editions take stage in Detroit
The new 2011 Jeep® Compass was unveiled at the North
American International Auto
Show this week in Detroit,
along with special editions of
each Jeep model to mark the
brand’s 70th anniversary.
The new Compass will feature the vehicle’s first-ever
Trail-Rated badge, meaning
every Jeep model will now be
available with the important off
road certification, The Blade of
Toledo, Ohio reported.
“The look clearly shows resemblance to the Grand Cher-
okee,” Mike Manley, president
and chief executive of the Jeep
brand, told the New York
Times. Manley added: “Jeep
turns 70 this year, and the
Compass is a concerted effort
to make the brand more cohesive, along with the full line up
of 70th anniversary Jeep vehicles unveiled at the press conference,” the New York Times
reported.
The Times added that the
Compass shows “vast interior
improvements” over the outgoing m odel, balanc ing
“rugged and refined” with a
substantial steering wheel and
sturdy fabrics.
AutoWeek reported that the
anniversary Jeep models will
arrive in dealerships in the first
quarter of this year with one
unique color, Bronze Star, in
addition to Bright Silver and
Black. The anniversary editions will feature special badges, wheels and other unique
trim.
The Jeep brand offers olive
as a primary interior color in
three of its 70th Anniversary
models, but the automaker
maintains there is nothing drab
about its interiors, Wardsauto.com reported.
Special-edition 2011 Jeep
Liberty, Jeep Wrangler and
Grand Cherokee SUVs can be
had with dark olive seats that
recall the military uniforms in
vogue when the 4x4 vehicle
made its battlefield debut in
1941, Wardsauto.com said.
All-new 2011 Chrysler 300 is a
legitimate luxury contender
The Associated Press called

a pivotal year” for the Chrysler
Group. The car was officially
unveiled this week at the North
American International Auto
Show.
Motor Trend called the
Chrysler 300 “heavily updated”
with new exterior styling, an allnew interior, a new V-6 engine
and a host of ride and handling
improvements.
At launch, the all-new 292horsepower Pentastar 3.6-liter
V-6 engine and the 363horsepower 5.7-liter HEMI® V-8
will be available, Motor Trend
reported.
Wardsauto.com

Chrysler Brand
President
and
CEO
Olivier
Francois saying
that the new
Chrysler 300 “will
re-establish our
legitimacy in the luxury segment.”
Chrysler’s big sedan retains
“the bold, imposing presence
with a classic American shape,”
but it is more windswept in profile, Automobile Magazine said.
Chrysler has modernized the
design with shapelier headlights
featuring LEDs that Chrysler
design vice president Ralph
Gilles says are inspired by the
eyes of an eagle, the magazine
reported. The 300 also adopts
Chrysler’s new grille and badge,
Automobile Magazine said.
The AP also reported that
gas mileage improves 8 percent
in the new 300.
