Dear Parent/Guardians,
Greetings!
I hope you had an opportunity to spend quality family time and a good break with your children during the June
school holidays.
On the 1st Sunday of the June School Holidays, ie 6 Jun, our PSG family united in a travel bond to Johore for a
day trip.
42 members of the PSG family who were with us at the trip would undoubtedly support my statement that
we really and truly had an extremely enjoyable family bonding day.
We explored a mushroom farm, visited a noodle-making factory, a plantation of tapioca, sweet potatoes, durians,
rambutans, just to name a few. We had practical lessons on farming. We were also taught the art of making
“mud balls” using recycled material, A visit to the Bird Nest Factory was also included in the itinerary. Durian
feasting during lunch was also the day’s attraction!
Coincidentally we were borught to an environment close to Mother Nature on a day just after World
Environmental Day (5 Jun). It was indeed a golden opportunity to educate our children on saving Gaia and reemphasise on the importance of practicing the 3 Rs (reuse, recycle and reduce wastage)
This is the 2nd successful family bonding trip we had, the 1st was on 27-28 Nov 2009 when we went to Kukup for
a 2 day trip. With the experience of 2 such successful events, there was an encore of a 3rd trip and we are likely
to organize it during the December school holidays. So watch out for the communication space.

Teachers’ Day Celebration – 31 August
We introduced the Trishaw Rides during 2009’s Racial Harmony Day Celebrations. Beattyians were very
excited as they experienced the trishaw rides around the parade square. An encore was requested for 2010’s
Racial Harmony Day Celebrations, thus we are arranging for their return on 20 July. You are most welcome to
join in the fun celebrations which objective is to encourage harmony among our races and also to allow
Beattyians an opportunity to soak in the traditions of various racial food and games.
Details of other above events will be circulated once finalised.
So watch out for the communication space.
Our 5th PSG Board Meeting was held on 3 July and minutes of the meeting will be circulated via email
distributon to PSG members.
6th PSG Board Meeting is scheduled on 14 August and agenda will be e-distributed during the 1st week of
August.
I look forward to seeing you at this meeting and at all other School/PSG events
Your enduring and continuing support of our Beatty PSG coupled with the effervesence of the team
