Summer Dip,
by Ashley Barlow
Ashley Barlow is a collage artist and graphic designer living in
the Twin Cities with her husband and tiny dog, Mutton Chops.
Ashley’s art is of the quirky, whimsical, and graphic nature;
she’s drawn to playful, light imagery splashed with vintage
ephemera. Ashley’s focuses on composition, layering her pieces
with paper, acrylics, and accenting them with hand-stitching
and illustration. Her process involves a lot of time spent flipping
through old magazines and ads, searching for just the right
imagery to spark spontaneous inspiration, and she loves to see
the way images can offer fresh perspectives when arranged in
new or different contexts.
Outside of her studio art, Ashley is designing in front of a
computer with a focus on illustration and hand-lettering. When
not arranging on canvas or screen, she loves to spend her spare
time playing in interior design, running the lakes, or hunting
for thrifty treasures.
