The Neverending Story at the
Hillcrest Center for the Arts
Lois Mahalia started performing at the age of 5 and toured throughout the Caribbean singing with her family in churches and on any
stage they could find. It was there she developed my love for Gospel, R&B and Jazz. She eventually moved to New York, continued
singing, and has been fortunate to have performed and recorded
with Kenny Loggins, Michael MacDonald, Norman Gimble, and

Doheny Blues Festival at the
Doheny State Beach

The day will feature restaurants, caterers and wineries in addition
to live jazz performance by some of the areas finest musicians. Performing are Tim Heintz, Matt Harris, Luis Conte and Mighty Mo
Rodgers (pictured). The cost to attend is $50 and the special VIP
ticket is $75. The VIP ticket includes a VIP parking pass, one hour
early admission, and reserved VIP seating near the jazz music stage

Young Artists Ensemble presents The Neverending Story directed
by Georgeanne Lees. Imagination drives this story of a young boy
who steals the book The Neverending Story from a curmudgeonly
store owner and becomes drawn into the book and the dying land of
Fantastica. The Neverending Story walks the fine line between reality and imagination. Pictured are Arielle Jacobellis as Morla and
Drew Downing as Atreyu. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays
at 7:30 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are
$14 for adults and $12.50 for children, students and seniors. There

soprano voices of our time,” by the Chicago Classical Review, international opera sensation and native Venturan Nicole Cabell closes the 2012 season with impressive Mozart tenor, Shawn Mathey.
Cabell was the 2005 winner of the BBC Cardiff “Singer of the
World” competition, the most prestigious competition in the world
of voice. Since then she has garnered rave reviews for engagements
across the globe from Vienna to Oslo and New York to London.
