Happy New Year from all of us at Mosman Needlecraft
I have just arrived back from the wonderful TNNA Trade Show in California. I found myself so excited to see new things
and it caused me to reflect on how important it is for a shop to stock new goodies all the time. Not just new books, threads
or linens but different things to add to the needlecraft experience. We now have beautiful embossed ribbons, wonderful
children’s buttons and some knitting yarns and patterns, some not found in Australia. The knitting yarns are from Mountain
Colors, Lorna’s Laces, Berocco, Malabrigo, Jade Sapphire, Claudia Hand Painted Yarns, Rowan and Madelinetosh. Call the shop
for details and we can send you samples of the ones you like to see.
Fabrics. We are adding to our fabric stocks. Linens, aida, cotton drills and also a few cotton fabrics suitable for childrens
clothes and patchwork. A few nice ones to add to anyone’s ‘stash’.
Our new website. We are nearly ready to launch our new website – at last. Once launched, we will add new products as fast
as possible. You will be able to order products directly from the website.
Stitch and Stay. We have had many requests for stitch/knit groups. We are going to trial having Wednesday and Saturday
afternoon groups from 1pm to 3.30pm. (Contact the shop for details as sometimes we have Saturday afternoon classes). Bring
either your embroidery or knitting projects. Free tea and coffee.
Tea Cosy Competition. We are very pleased to announce a tea cosy competition to be judged by the well known author of
Wild Tea Cosies books and teacher coming to Mosman Needlecraft in May - Loani Prior. The Tea Cosy can be embroidered,
knitted or crocheted but must be original. Each entry must be accompanied by a Mosman Needlecraft receipt for goods $ 15
or more and a stamped addressed envelope. (excluding classes and makeup service) from 15 February 2011 and must be at
Mosman Needlecraft by 30 April 2011. The prize will be a $ 400 Mosman Needlecraft Gift Voucher.
Class Projects Exhibition. We will be having an exhibition of class projects in October 2011 and would love anyone who has
attended classes at Mosman Needlecraft to consider being a part of the event. More details in the next newsletter.
