Ryan Kelleher (Albert Peterson) is thrilled to be in this year’s musical
Bye, Bye Birdie. Ryan was last seen as Nathan Detroit in Guys & Dolls.
Ryan is currently a member of National Honor Society, CASS, DARE,
German Club, Thespian Society, Athletic Council, and QYP. To add to
this he also played football at CPHS for 4 years and was the varsity
middle line-backer on the CPHS football team in which he received
Academic All-Conference, Academic All-State, The Russ Keller Award,
and the 2nd Leading Tackler. Ryan is honored to be taught by a
wonderful voice teacher, Jennifer Redlarczyk. He would also like to thank his mother for
not strangling him because of his random theatre dialog outbreaks, as well as his father
for not forcing him to get a job. Ryan’s parents are his biggest supporters, and he loves
them dearly. “No matter what I do they are always backing me 100% of the way.”
Kim Kovacik (Rosie Alvarez), a
senior, has been involved in six
shows during her time at Crown
Point. Out of those six shows,
she has had five leads including
Mary Bailey in It’s a Wonderful
Life, Betty Rogers in The Will
Rogers Follies, and Juror 8 in 12
Angry Jurors. Since this will be
her final production of her high school
career, she would like to thank her
family for all the times that Kim forced
them to run lines with her, listen to her
sing, and watch her shows. She’d like
to thank her longest friend Katie Dillon
for inspiring her to join theatre in the
first place. “Break a leg to all the lovely
seniors who’ve had to put up with me
for four years as we
say Bye, Bye to Crown
Point High very soon.
Also, good luck to my
beautiful double cast,
Madi McGuckin, (just
remember me after you
get famous)! Thanks for
all the memories guys.”

Madi McGuckin (Rosie
Alvarez) is extremely excited
yet saddened to be back for
her last show with CPHS. Madi
has been in a range of roles
the past four years from Juror
#1 in 12 Angry Jurors, Sarah
Brown in Guys & Dolls, to a
townsperson in It’s a Wonderful
Life. When not on stage, Madi has
been involved in the costume crew
since her freshman year, as well as
student council, serving as Student
Body President this year. She could
not be more thankful for the time she
has spent on the CPHS stage, and
would like to thank Mr. Degenhart,
Mr. Flewelling, and Mrs. Hales for
giving her the opportunity, support,
and guidance. To her parents, Mrs.
Shannon, and Bobbie, she is forever
grateful for their belief in her. There is
no way she could even attempt to
continue doing theatre without their
support. She would also like to say,
‘Break a Leg’ to the cast and crew!
Especially, the fantastic four, “You
ladies are the greatest people and I
love you all. Special shout-out to my
other hispanic, Kimmy!”
Artie Equihua (Conrad Birdie) is excited
to be back in another
musical. The first show
he appeared in was
The Music Man. He also
participates in football
and track and field. He is
thrilled to be part of the
theatre family again.

Dylan Taylor (Conrad Birdie) first became
involved with CPHS theatre last year when
cast as the cantankerous Benny Southstreet
in the production Guys and Dolls. Since
then, his interest in musical theatre has
developed further, culminating in his current
role as Conrad Birdie in Bye Bye Birdie. In
addition to his theatrical work, Taylor is the
concertmaster of the CPHS
orchestra and chamber
orchestra, co-editor-in-chief
of Inklings, the school’s
student newspaper, and a
member of multiple clubs,
such as Green Machine
and Student Council.
Taylor enjoys songwriting,
cycling, distance running, playing the
violin, guitar, and banjo, reading, watching
films, exploring world religions and mystical
traditions, and spending time with friends
and family. He will be attending IU in the
fall, and plans to study neuroscience and
folklore/ethnomusicology, with aspirations
to become a psychotherapist, psychiatrist,
or professor.
Corey Kuhlman (Mr. McAfee)
is excited to be in his 8th and
final show at Crown Point High
School. As a senior, he has seen
many of his friends with whom
he performed leave and move
on. He is somewhat sad to finally
be in their shoes, the one that is
now gearing up
for college. From
Macbeth Did It
all the way to Bye
Bye Birdie, he is
one of the few
students who has
been involved in
all 8 productions.
Corey aims to go to Purdue to
study physics education and
participate in the theatrical
productions at Purdue. He would
like to thank all of his friends who
have been alongside him through
the various shows. “Thanks mom
for always pushing me to be the
best that I could possibly be.”
Sam Barber (Randolph
MacAfee) is excited
to make another, and
hopefully not his last
appearance in a show

It was serendipitous that a
school friend asked Caleb
Smoot (Third Reporter, Teen
Chorus) to be an attendant in
her Quinceanera last year, as
that is how he discovered how
fun it is to do choreographed
dance. Coupled with his
fantastic sense of humor,
dashing good looks, and Rat Pack quality
voice, auditioning for the spring musical
seemed like a natural next step. Caleb is
excited for his debut role as Reporter #3 and
as the next Fred Astaire in several dance
numbers. When not on stage, Caleb cooks
up a mean batch of Ramen noodles and
defends his village in Clash of Clans.

The CPHS Theatre Department
has dedicated the
2013-2014 season
to honor
Eugene “Pops" Hack
Master Carpenter
1935 - 2013
Pops' work with the CPHS Theatre Department started after
a large set piece crashed in the middle of a performance of
Damn Yankees in March 2002. His daughter offered Pops'
services to help repair the scenery and I gladly accepted.
That’s how our relationship with Pops began – Pops
helping us. The following year he helped with a prop or
detailed piece of scenery. Pops' work was amazing and
we all knew he was exceptionally talented and would only
improve the productions here. During his time as master
carpenter, Pops fully created scenery for 11 plays and 11
musicals. While all of his scenery was impressive, some
highlights included the sets for Noises Off, Rumors, Les
Miserables, and Fiddler on the Roof.
Pops' influence went way beyond his construction talents.
The actors enjoyed having Pops and his lovely wife Jo front
row center leading the standing ovation at the end of every
performance. While his talents in set construction could
never be replaced, it’s his charm, dedication, and friendship
that will be missed the most.
A tree has been planted in Pops' honor on the northwest
side of the building near entrance W-5.

Joshua David (Chorus) has enjoyed his 4 years working with the
CPHS theatre department. From a chorus member in MacBeth,
playing clarinet in the pit for Anything Goes and Will Roger's
Follies, to Sam Wainwright in It's A Wonderful Life and Lieutenant
Rooney in Arsenic and Old Lace, he has been overjoyed to be a
part of these productions. His favorite role was Juror 9 in 12 Angry
Jurors. Along with working with the CPHS theatre department,
Joshua works with the Order of the Arrow's ceremonial team,
which has given him other opportunities to perform outside of
school. He would like to thank his parents and sister Andrea for all their help
along the path, and the Arnold family, for helping him on and off the stage. To
everyone one in the CPHS theatre, he would like say thank you for all the fun
and excitement it has brought him, along with a very special thank you to Mr.

Nick Sansone (Chorus) is thrilled to be back on the CPHS stage in
Bye, Bye Birdie. Currently a junior at CPHS, he has been involved
with CPHS theatre since his freshman year, appearing in It's a
Wonderful Life as an ensemble member and Guys & Dolls as
both a crapshooter AND a missionary (ironic, right?). Outside
of CPHS, he has been in Oliver!, Children of Eden, and The
Music Man with the Genesius Guild in Hammond, and, more
recently, Tiny Tim: A Christmas Carol Revisited with Crown Point
Community Theatre. When not on stage, he can be seen on
CPTV with his film review segment Nick's Flix, and also in the Stray Dogs Improv
Group. He would like to thank all of the directors for giving so much time and
energy to this show to make it something amazing, and all of the seniors who
welcomed him into this family, especially my Buffalo Gal. But, perhaps most of
all, he would like his parents and grandparents, for without them, he wouldn't be
the person he is today.
Emma Werkowski
(Chorus) was
involved in 12
Angry Jurors as a
member of paint
crew, and loved
the experience.
She is very excited
to be even more
involved in Bye,
Bye Birdie! As a
freshman in the
musical, Emma
feels extremely
honored and
overjoyed to be
part of the chorus.
Even though she
can't be with her
Latin Club friends,
she wishes them
luck at state and
hopes they do an
awesome job!
Taylor Zick (Chorus) is so blessed to be a part
of this, her first show! She has already made
a lot of great friends and can't wait to do
this for the next four years! "I'd like to thank
my parents for giving me the opportunity
to do this, both my sisters who pushed me
out of my comfort zone to try this, and Mr.
Degenhart for giving me this chance to be
part of a family."
Ashlyn Stiener (Chorus) is happy to be a part
of her second CPHS Theatre production.
She worked on paint crew for the 2013 fall
play 12 Angry Jurors, and
Bye, Bye Birdie is her first
time being a part of the
cast and crew. She enjoys
her role as a teen girl in the
chorus. She also is proud of
her involvement with CASS,
