ReF: GIVE A BREIF HIS'IDRY OF CARCASS.
BILL: We started
properly
in early 1987. At that stage,
the nucleus was Jeff,
Ken, and myself,
although we had a vocalist
on our deroc>. After that, we
continued
as a 3-peice band for quite sane time, releasing
two albums "Reek Of Putrefaction"
and "Symphonies Of Sickness"
- then adding Hike on
the second guitar
in May 1990.
ReF: HOWt1ANYDEMO'S WEREDONEBEFORETHE DEAL WITHEARACHE?

although we all dislike
it.
'1C!': HOWIS THE SUPPORTOF EARACHE?
'qIT..L: Naturally
it could be better,
but we cant expect to much fran a relativly
small label with so many bands.
HCF: HOWWASTHE RESPONSE'ID THE NAUSEATINGNORTHAMERICATOUR?
BILL: The tour was excellent,
as far as responses
were concerned.
It was very
surprising
to discover
that so many people who were familiar
with our music,
especially
since our Ip's were not danestic
releases
at that time!
ReF: WHOWRITES THE LYRICS/MUSIC?
BILL: OVer the last couple of years,
most of the musichas been writen by myself
and Ken, and the lyrics
mainly by Jeff.
ReF: Is there another
Ip in the making? If so, what is the scheduled
release
date?
BILL: We intend to record our next album during the summer, so an early autumn/winter release
seems likely.
We'll begin touring
shortly
thereafter.
ReF: HOWHAS THE REXX>RD
SALES DONESINCE THE U. S. RELEASEW/ CDMBAT?
BILL: We haven't
been given any indication
of the sales in quite some time exc~pt
that they are still
selling
very well.
ReF: WHATARE sa.1E OF THE BANDSFAVES?
BILL: Each member of the band has his own personal
favorites.

EXIT-13 ;~DLYSHIT! HOLYSHIT! HOLYSHIT! Thats
what these guy's leave me saying when
listening
to their record!
Obviously these guy's music is intense!
The most
intense
grind to come along! After a series
of relocations,
they have finally
settled
down in the quiet town of Millersville
Pennsylvania.
Along with Relapse Records. One last thing I must say before moving on to the interveiw
is
watch out for their upcoming 7" ep to be released
around 10/91. Interveiw
done with Bill,
vocalist
of Exit-13!!!
RCF: GIVE A BREIF HISTORYOF THE BAND, ALL LINE UP CHANGESAND INFO ON THE ORIG. LINE.
BILL: HOLYFLOCK! This could take eons! Exit -13 formed out of the break up of two
Pennsylvania
bands: Satans bake sale/Distorted
world and Geneticide.
The original
line up was Joel-bass/Pat-guitar&vox/Craig-drums.
Craig got busted.
Pat moved to
drums and Steve from Geneticide
joined on guitar.
I'm not bothering
with the time
frame on this,
but by October 1989 the line up was very stable
with Joel, Steve,
and Pat. I joined the band in late October/early
November. We did our first
ep
about a month later.
In June/July
1990, we recorded
the "Green is good" lp. During the following
months, we had many problems due to many bullshit
problems,
mainly caused by Pat. In early 1991 , Pat got into a heap of trouble with the
police.
Due to the particulars
of his actions,
he was irrrnediatly
kicked out of the
band. Our new druITmer is an ultra
groovey cat by the name of Bill Schaeffer.
He
graduated
from a school in California
with a degree in percussion.
People will
be amazed by his grooveiness!
This is the line up as we speak- Bill/vox,
Joel/bass
Steve/guitars,
Bill S on drums.
RCF: TELL ME THE NAME OF ALL THE DEM:>' S RELEASED? VINYL?

ideas"

And we will be releasing
a new 7" 10/90. It will be called
"Spare the wrench,
surrender
the earth".
RCF: WHENYOU PLAY LIVE, WHAT'S THE CROWDSRESPONSE TO YOUR MUSIC?
BILL:
The response
is frequently
stupified
confusion!
We've done some groovey shows
but when we play out to peoplewho dig Testament,
we perplex
them. We have net played out for months, so I cant wait to see the crowds reaction
to our new songs.
If people hate our music, they are at least entertained
by my crazec~ stn'.Je flailing.
RCF: WHAT'S THE SCENE LIKE IN MILLERSVILLE?

is a nice college
town with a very limited
scene. we've 90t one

Impetigo was formed in July of 1987 by Steve and Mark. Shortly after that
they added Danny on drums and started doing shows. Then in Febuary of 1989
they added a second guitarist Scotty. They have released two demo's.
The
first "ALL WE NEED IS
CHEESE"
was recorded live.
It's more of a hardcore
sound. After adding Scott they made the demo entitled "GIALLO" which is
more like the grotesque/horrid/genitial
shriveling sound we have all grown
to love. Now theyhave an Lp "ULTIMO MUNDO CANNIBALE"
th~i.r
most horrifing
yet!
! !
How's the sale's of "ULTIMO t10NDO C.\~~;HBALE.?
tell you, fro:n \l:lat:iUchard C. (of Wild RagsRecords) has said and the letters I've gotten it seems to be doing o.k.
The only thing I know for sure is that the first pressing of of 1500
CD's sold out in Europe in less than thirty days.
That's the only
figures I know for sure. Once the word gets out to allthe sicko's
it should be cool!!
It'll help that it has European licensing and
release on Semaphore, that shoulC double the sales!
RCF: Is there any new material in the works? 7",Lp?
MS: Funny you should ask! In a month or sooner we'll have a 7" out on the

and the 7" is called "BUIO-
OMEGA" and it fetures 3 remixed songs from the "GIALO" demo and the old
unreleased version of "HARBINGER OF DEATH".
It's got a sick cover!!!!
Also we just recoeded 2 brand new songs for a split 7" we'll do with
BLOOD, it'll be on their own label IRAN RECORDS andI'd look for that by
early summeror so. So that's what we have planned for now and we are
writing new songs for whenever we start work on a new Lp.
Is there going to be a tour any time soon?
If so, do you have any dates?
I dout it, we all work life supporting jobs, so it's very hard for us
to tour, we'll do as many shows as we can but it's doubtful that there
will be any or to many out of this area!
We'll try to do some in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin etc. if we can. We'll see how things
go---who really knows what the future will hold!!!!
How's UNIFORCE coming along?
Glad you asked, I stopped doing the zine, I just recentaly made the
decision and it was a tough one but I'm just too busy with the band
and trying to keep up with the mail now and to keep up & put out a
quality zine, it'll probablly be reborn when the band dies but now I
really want to devote my time to the band most of all, it's going

RCF: Are there any new members of the band?
.~
MS: Nope, the band has always been from day one me (MARK) guitar, Stevobass/vocals and Dan on drums.
?hen in Febuary of '89 we added Scotty
on guitar, but besides that he's the newest!
We have never loSt a
member, we are all good friends
so it's easy to work tog~ther.
.

RCF: IF ther~is any new release coming out, will it be on Wild Rags?
MS: We'd like to do the second Lp on Wild Rags but we are not signed
to do so.
I'm sure it is entirely possible.
The only thing is on
our next Lp we'd like to get some money for the studio time, it
would really help us out alot.
The last time we paid for it all
and the production suffered a little so we'd like to get some extra
to record with.
Everything
has been cool with Wild Rags so far so
I do hope to continue to remain on that label but we are open to
offers and we'll have to go with the best one we get.
RCF: How long are you signed to Wid Rags and for how many albums?
MS: Well I kinda anse~ued that in the last question, we just signed
for the one Lp and that's it!
We mayor
may not do more for them
That's up to Richard.
He has the right to press "ULTIMO MONDO
CANNIBALE" for 5 years and do what he wants with it but we haven't
signed a contract to do more Lp's for them yet, we
would like to
though.
RCF: Does Wild Rags help out any with uniforce?
Ms: It did when I was doing the zine, I always sold my zine through the
Wild Rags mailorder!
Richard took 75 copies of #7 and it sold
quite well!
He was also good at getting me promo copies to review
and shit so it was a big help.
He has a cool mailorder set up
there!
RCF: Any last comments?
1\1S : YEAH,
Thanks alot for the cool interview and the best of luck!!!!
THANKS FOR YOUR TIME & FOR THE INTENSE DRAWINGS!!!!
