Tango Languedoc–Roussillon, France (Canal du Midi)
Now a UNESCO World Heritage site, the Canal du Midi is home to the “Tango”. This beautiful barge takes
you on a gastronomic and historical journey through the sunny Languedoc, which boasts its rolling hills
and canal-side vineyards, all under the dappled shade of the trees that line the canal.
Barge guests cruising on the Canal du Midi continue a tradition going
back centuries, whereby canals were built to link the Atlantic Ocean and
the Mediterranean Sea and transport precious grain. Completed in 1681,
this canal remains in its historical glory and continues to operate in the
same bustling spirit; the only change is that Tango has replaced its grain
for luxury and it is now one of the best ways to embrace the southern
French ambience.
