Read the Introduction of the Gleim Sport Pilot Syllabus book to learn when and how to use
each item in your kit.

• Study for your FAA Knowledge Test using the Gleim Online Ground School. This
course will thoroughly prepare you to pass this test.
" Supplement this course by using the Sport Pilot Knowledge Test book and Test
Prep Software to gain mastery over the material and build confidence.
• PASS your FAA Knowledge Test and begin flying with a flight instructor.
" To find a CFI in your area, visit: Gleim.com/aviation/CFI/search.
Step 4
• Complete the ground and flight lessons as your flight
instructor assigns them to you. These lessons can be found
in the Gleim Sport Pilot Syllabus, and Training Record.
" You will use the Sport Flight Maneuvers book, Pilot
Handbook, FAR/AIM, and training accessories during
your flight training to learn the material.
• PASS the FAA Sport Pilot practical test and become a
Sport Pilot!

FAA Knowledge Test: Complete 14 study units of outlines and practice questions. Then PASS your 40 multiplechoice-question knowledge test at a CATS or PSI/LaserGrade testing center.
FAA Practical Test: Complete 21 flight lessons while studying the 40 required “tasks” from the FAA Practical
Test Standards. As you encounter each task in your study, understand the task and its
requirements so you can explain it to your flight instructor and your FAA practical test
examiner when they ask (we explain, illustrate, and discuss each task).
