Highlighting the top performers from the 30th Force Support Squadron
MR. KEVIN MACDONALD
Installation Military Test Examiner
30 FSS/FSDE
Mr. Kevin Macdonald is an integral member of the
30th Force Development Flight as the Military Test
Examiner for Vandenberg AFB. His duties include
administering the installation’s military personnel
testing program for a variety of military tests including
promotion testing. He schedules and notifies all eligible
personnel of testing requirements and implements and
enforces strict testing procedures. Mr. Macdonald also
assists the Military Personnel Section by aiding the
promotions section with testing policy and procedures,
and with training base WAPS Monitors. He is
currently enrolled in a Human Resources Professional
Certification program and plans to further his education with the University of Laverne’s
Organizational Management Degree Program. His community involvement includes
aiding an elementary school in the Philippines by raising $45k in local currency to
resource needed supplies/equipment for the children. He also volunteered for the Bikes
for Kids local charity event to deliver needed bicycles to Vandenberg youth. He recently
was awarded Civillian of the Quarter, Category 1, for the Force Support Squadron in the
4th Quarter. In his spare time, Mr. Macdonald enjoys cooking, walking for fitness, and
spending time with his teenage daughter.

TUITION ASSISTANCE DECIDE AKA “TA DECIDE”
In April of this year the Department of Defense (DoD) launched a new online tool designed to help participants
of DoD’s Tuition Assistance (TA) program in making informed choices on schools and education programs. The
TA Decide tool allows students to search and compare among more than 2,600 schools using specific filters such
as type of accreditation (regional or national), type of school (public, private non-profit, or private for-profit),
learning method (online or classroom), desired major, degree level (associates, bachelors, etc.), and school
location. TA Decide provides a wide range of information on schools participating in the TA program: school
population, the number of TA participants at a school plus the total amount of TA paid, tuition rate (tuition
costs, book costs, and costs for room/board), percent of military students graduating, and time required to
graduate--to name just a few of the comparison parameters!
TA Decide is uniquely tailored toward meeting information needs of students and we recommend you check
it out! TA Decide is accessible at https://www.dodmou.com/TADECIDE/ … once there, select your search
parameters and begin your school search/comparison! If you have questions or need additional information,
please contact the Education Center at 605-5900
