I am a sophomore Art History and Italian double major here at JMU, and originally from Newington, Connecticut. Being so far away from home is the reason I decided to join a sorority, and I am glad I did because the women I have met are inspirational, hilarious, driven, and now my sisters. Being in AST and having so many wonderful girls to look up to is the reason I decided to run for an executive position. I know that each of our alumnae has felt the connection to their sisters and I would love to help keep in contact between our active sisters and our alumnae. These past few weeks I have been working hard on creating an Alumnae Website with pictures, family trees, and alumnae of the week. The e-‐mails you have sent me (and also Maggie) have helped greatly and I cannot thank all of you enough! Please feel free to e-‐mail me with any pictures you may have, memories new and old with sisters, or with any news you would like to share! TL&M, Jenna

Hello my beautiful Sisters!
My name is Laura Knopp and I am a junior at James Madison
University. I am currently studying Health Sciences with a
concentration in Pre-Pharmacy. I rushed as a freshmen and am
now in my third year as a member of Alpha Sigma Tau. I know it
has been said again and again but I do not know what I have done
without this amazing organization.
In the past three years this chapter has taught me so much about
myself as well as the potential I have and learn how to utilize it.
Last year I gained experience as the Assistant Recruitment Chair
and now I currently hold the position of Recruitment chair.
This semester we are participating in continuous ongoing bidding, which begins February 4th. The New
Member Educator, Rachel DeGraba, and I are working hard to make sure that this process runs smoothly
and efficiently. In addition to coordinating continuous ongoing bidding this spring, I am already diligently
working on Recruitment this fall.
We have an amazing sisterhood and I love being able to plan and coordinate events to illustrate that to
potential new members. If there are any alumnae that have any advice for me, or just want to reach out, I
would love to hear from you! Feel free to email me at [email protected]
Tau Love & Mine,
Laura
