PRINCIPALS’ MESSAGE
FROM CIKGU GAZALA BINTI ABDULLAH
Principal, Secondary Section
Dear #1Sarjana Family,
HAPPY NEW YEAR AND WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL YEAR 2016
I am excited and honoured to welcome each and every one of you to the beginning of a new school year at Seri
Mulia Sarjana School. This school year will be a year of great expectations, achieving our goals, with hard work and
determination and thereby leading our school and students’ achievements to the next successful phase.
At Seri Mulia Sarjana, we are dedicated to a student-centered programme that promotes academic excellence
through an enriched, vigorous inter-disciplinary curriculum. We are here to support the entire Sarjana community,
to ensure that each and every one attains the fullest academic potential. We look forward to working with our
parents, guardians and the community to provide a high-quality education for our students.
This year, you can look forward to encountering a highly intensive and challenging academic program that will push
you to work beyond limits. However, I am confident that all of you have the capacity and ability to meet our targets
and the demands of our new classes and teachers. Our aim is to make sure that all students become critical
thinkers, active problem-solvers, and inquisitive readers. We do all of this to prepare you for the demands of the
real world so that you may become productive citizens, efficient leaders, and do something positive and creative to
the community.
To our parents, thank you so much for your continuous support.
On behalf of the management and staff of Seri Mulia Sarjana School, I extend a warm welcome to all of you and
thank you for being part of Seri Mulia Sarjana community where NO CHILD IS LEFT BEHIND.
Sincerely,
Cikgu Gazala Binti Abdullah
FROM PUTRI M. SIMANJUNTAK
Acting Principal, Preschool and Primary Sections
Dear #1Sarjana Family,
On behalf of the teachers and staff at the Preschool and Primary sections, I hope everyone in the SMSS community
had a relaxing, restful December holidays. We expect great things, new hopes and possibilities from our students
and academic team in this new year 2016, ready to return to the business of learning with SMSS.
For our young children at Kindergarten 1 and Year 1, it's your first day in a new school environment, so it's
understandable if you're a little nervous. I also imagine there are some Kindergarten 3 and Year 6 out there, who is
feeling pretty confident and great right now, with just one more year to go. In line with our vision Total Education for
All (T.E.A.), we hope to empower students and our academic team to do great things; and continue to take
ownership of their own learning.
As each of our Head of Subjects align their departmental goals and targets to the School Development Plan and the
R.I.G.H.T. values of the School, we will make the learning personal and help everyone in the SMSS
community discover their passions and build on their strengths. We want our academic team and students to pursue
those goals; shared with colleagues and classmates who can support and encourage each other. This is staying true
to our mission in pursuit of realizing our vision, ‘The School with dedicated teamwork will take the initiative to
provide quality holistic education; demanding personal responsibility, respect and honour for all’. It is indeed
our life-long responsibility as educators at SMSS for inspiring everyone in the Sarjana community, and pushing everyone to learn; setting high standards and giving each of our children and academic team opportunities they deserve
– turning them into extraordinary individuals!
We know, working with children, not every day will be awesome. With the wisdom and care from our team of
dedicated teachers, our children hopefully leave school at the end of the day with a smile on their faces because of
the unique Sarjana experience in our classrooms and programmes.
Let us be committed partners in imparting skills and helping our children reach their fullest potential as an esteemed
student of SMSS. Start simply by helping our children be on time to school; advising them to pay attention to the
teachers during lessons; whilst maintaining open communication with them constantly. With time and effort, both
school and home can help our children succeed. Do make the time to talk to us, the Principals and/ or our appointed
lead posts.
Parents & guardians, I would like to thank you in advance for your commitment to your child’s education. Our
dedicated Sarjana team is equally excited to prepare for another amazing school year, building on the successes
and accomplishments of last year. We are inspired by a steadfast commitment to Sarjana students and families, a
love of learning; eager to foster and maintain lasting relationships with the Sarjana community. It’s time to be
awesome for some new stories of great learning in 2016. It begins now. “Have T.E.A. the R.I.G.H.T. way with
